  1. Hi there! I got my surgery from Dr. Ortiz as well, and I have recently found 2 doctors in the Flagstaff area that does the fills with the Fluro. It was an awesome experience. Everyone was wonderful! Here is their information. Dr. Berger 928-773-2222 The fills cost 225.00 because we did not get our surgery from them; however, it is well worth it. I too, was flying, taking the trolley, a cab to the office, a cab back from the office, trolley back, and flight back ~ all in one day. I found I was basically paying more to go to TJ than to just suck up the $225.00 and go up north. Also, no need to wait for hours to get back across the border. Originally, I had considered the Fill Center USA; however, they do not use Fluro and thus, this puts our band at risk. I was unwilling to do that. Dr. Berger and his associate do fills 2x per month, so you may want to touch base so that they can get you in their system. They have amazing follow up care. Once you get your fill they call you within a few days to see how you are doing, and then again approx. a month later just to make sure that all is well. Good luck! Lexi
  2. Thanks so much guys! I do not have any friends who have experience with this, so I am figuring this thing out one day at a time. I am so paranoid about doing something wrong. Can't wait to get my first fill. Alex
  3. Hi Everyone. I got my lapband approximately three weeks ago andas of yesterday, I am feeling zero restriction. I am still playing by the rules.............only straw worthy food until this Sunday; however, I am now becoming hungry and if I let myself, I could eat the same amount of soup as I did prior to the procedure. I have also pretty much reached a plateau when it comes to the weight loss. Has anyone ever obtained a fill prior to six weeks post surgery? I am very anxious (and a bit paranoid) that something is wrong. If I am able to eat the same amount of food as before, did my band slip/is there too much stomach left above it? How would I even know if that happened? Someone Pass the Prozac Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!and throw in a couple of Valium.
  4. Hi There. My surgery is scheduled for mid January and I am a bit anxious having read the postings. Is it really difficult to lose weight on the band? While I do not expect it to be an easy fix, I do expect results. Am I hearing that it doesn't work that effectively?
