  1. The biggest problem I am having is STOPPING! I have enjoyed food for the longest time, how do I control myself to stop! Well usually the band tells me, but I have noticed that I enjoy my food less. Pizza, being my favorite food, I can only eat one or maybe two slices, but I don't enjoy it like I used to. Good, bad, I don't know? For the last three night I have been eating to the point of PBing. A lot of this is due to the fact that I USED to be a night eater. I don't eat breakfast, can skip lunch, but once the sunsets, WATCH OUT! So I can basically drink water all day, but at dinner time I eat too fast and end up sick.

Am I the only one with this affliction.

Please share your trouble times, it makes me feel like I am not alone! Also include the way you deal with the cravings, and any good solutions!

    Thanks guys!

  2. I am scared of the sipping part. I slam water all day long. I am already up to 96 ounces and it is only 4:40 in the afternoon. How did ya'll practice sipping? It doesn't come naturally to me at all. :( I did break the straw habit -that was a hard one to break.

I didn't practice sipping or eating slowly or chewing to death. What happened was I got a fill (well 2) and that thing FORCED me to sip, eat slow and chew. It is a big learning curve, but you learn quick. The first time I didn't chew my food right I was convinced I was having a heart attack and dying! I "slimed" which is so gross and spit and finally mercy was placed upon me and I gave it up! So trust me sipping "will come naturally" after restriction!

  3. I just got my second fill on June 7th, and the restriction is good. GREAT! But I still feel like I don't know what foods to eat or how to eat. I have a family so basically at dinner I make a meat selection (Chicken, Turkey, fish, or tofu) some veggies and rice, noodles beans, etc. I make my self a small plate and still don't finish. All of that is fine, but I am not seeing any loss. My clothes fit better, but I don't exercise ( I am currently in summer school) so I know it's not muscles. Does anyone have a sample menu or something I could look at. I looked at the literature they give you at OCC and they just say split the plate up and eat in order, but I want to know WHAT to put on the plate. I just feel like if I had a menu I could duplicate that I would be losing better/faster.

Thank for any advice you could give me!

  5. I was nervous too! The three nights leading up to surgery I couldn't sleep. Try to recruit a friend to go with you, but if you can't the staff at OCC is so nice and caring. They will take such good care of you. The office is nice and clean and everyone is so friendly. There is nothing to be afraid of. I am so pleased with the level of professionalism. The only difference is LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! If it were in the states it would be more expensive, but the same service.

  6. I am so glad that Paula Bee posted this because I am having the same trouble too! Before I got my second fill I would drink water to stop the hunger pains, now I have to sip, sip, sip all day. When I just sip like that I forget and I am only drinking like 20 oz of water a day. It has been extremely hot here in CA this past week and I am afraid I will pass out in the street! I don't have a solution, but I just wanted to let you know that you aren't the only ones concerned!

  7. I cheated too! I am not proud, but I started eating little bites really early. My brain told me I was hungry and that I needed to chew something! I did notice however that at 7 weeks I got my first fill and about 2 weeks later I had no restriction. It could be that my stomach was still swollen; maybe from eating too soon. Be careful, I drank milk shakes to curb my hunger pains and started on the creamy stuff early. That helped a lot. I figured a shake was better than eating at that point in the healing.

Good luck and try to stay as close to the diet as possible.

  8. I had a great time in TJ. My fiance went out, shoppin and ate(he did anyway!) and even went to a club and watched the boxing match. NO ONE BOTHERED US! Ever. I did notice a strong police presence, but not in a harassing way, more like patroling. Every perone we met was polite and very helpful. I wore all my jewlery and noticed other bandsters went out shopped and bought more. Don't lear fear run your lives. Be cautious as you would going any place new, but not to the point of fear...
