  1. I had a question about smoothies...if they are pureed (sp?) and slightly melted, when can we have a fat free/sugar free smoothie? For some reason i've been dying to have one! I would assume its ok on the Full Liquid phase as long as there is no chunks.
  2. I have the same questions. Do you have the little paper that Dr. Miranda gave us? That broke it down but it was too general. Maybe Lori or Chelley will chime in!
  3. My incisions are looking better day by day!! Thanks for asking. Im curious about what is acceptable on day 8, 10 ect also. I've had a craving for a smoothie lately and im not even sure if that'll be allowed on day 10. I can't wait till this broth stuff is over, im REALLY hungry hahah How are YOU doing Becki?
  4. Hi becki, I've been using the antibiotic cream and keeping the wounds as clean as possible and they aren't getting any worse but not sure if they're getting better. I dont think ive given it enough time yet but we'll see what happens! If no improvement in the next few days, i'll have to call the Doc.
  5. speaking of hunger (sorry i didnt want to create another thread about this one question), at what point on the post op liquid diet can we drink tomato soup?? I'm still barely on day 5 of the first 7 days of the post op diet. Thanks!
  6. Lori, who are you referring to? I feel that everyday but then again I was banned on monday
  7. Hello Bandsters and Future bandsters... I was banded on Monday Aug 27th and as i've been cleaning my wounds daily, i noticed today that 2 of them are pussing mildly. They are not swolen and I don't have a fever or anything but I was curious what topical creams I could apply to it to help kill the infection. I've had other cuts and scrapes that have pussed before and i was able to take care of them by keeping them clean but never after a surgery. These are no bigger than your average pimple now with about the same amount of puss so im not too worried yet but I need some advice on what to keep them clean with. Has anyone else who was banned had this problem?? I've already used some hydrogen proxide and am about to go get some of that triple action antibiotic cream. Anyother suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks Dave
  8. Michelle, I've posted on a few other topics the same thing as i'm going to tell you here, so sorry for the redundancy if anyone else reads these. We all made it through great! It was a breeze. I was in a bit more pain waking up than the others but they quickly provided meds for me and we've been walking around and feeling much better. The staff here is outstanding and very kind. For once in my life, i felt comfortable being in a hospital/clinic. You will enjoy your stay here, its quite nice Good luck when you get here!
  9. Woohooo! We all made it through just fine. There were 4 or 5 of us that had it done today without complications. This is a great bunch of people at the clinic. ABSOLUTELY no complaints or worries!
  10. Wow, sounds like you've been through a lot. I'm happy to see that you have not given up yet! Good luck to you, I wish you the best!
  11. Starting to get a bit nervous I'll be getting off work in 4 hours and making my way straight to the airport. Wish us luck! As I recall, there are 3 of us getting it done on monday!
  12. I had soup yesterday and what a difference it makes! No more headache, no more feeling like i've just ran a marathon woohooo! Back to the liquid protein tonight for work and off to the airport in the morning. I hope there isn't anything i'm forgetting (important stuff anyways). I've got my papers, clothes, bathroom gear and my camera LOL. Also, anybody know what to look for as far as the driver when we get off the plane? I think i read that he/she will be at the baggage terminal. I hope they are carrying a sign, i'd hate to get down there and can't find the driver.
  13. Thanks Karen, No i haven't had too many veggies. I've only had the shakes/salads. I've added some broth tonight so hopefully that'll kick my cravings
  14. I'm having a heck of a time on the pre-op diet. I've had a headache for 3 days that I can't shake completely. This is probably due to the cold turkey of caffine and severe reduction in caloric intake. I have no energy at all am so tired. On top of that, i'm having to work 12 hour shifts (night shifts) all week up to the morning of my departure (sunday aug 27th). I know its only a few days away but sheesh! Anyone think it would be ok to have some soup? Im just looking for something close to real food that may give me the needed energy that i need. I was totaling the numbers the other night and i've cut my caloric intake from almost from probably 3000/3500 calories per day to under 800! No wonder i feel weak Thanks!
  15. Sure thing Tom. I'd love to travel with company. Just make sure to keep in touch!
  16. Michelle, I am on the Atkins Advantage shakes and they're not too bad, not too good either. I have 10+ pounds to lose also but being that i'm taking in only 800ish calories a day im sure i'll drop weight quick. Good luck! To everyone else... I'll be arriving at 09:51AM in San Diego on August 27th! I'm getting excited
  17. I just had a vision of this conversation. "Hey, what do you have going on for the 17th of August?" "Nothing much. Whats up?" "Wanna go have surgery in Tijuana with me?" "Sure, I'm not doing anything else that day" HAHA
  18. I was in the militay but not when i was in WA. I was up there with work (2002-2003). I work for IBM and was supporting the Washington Mutual account in Seattle for a year.
  19. I am coming from Colorado. I lived up that way for a while too a few years back. Its a great state!
  20. Cool, thanks! I used to live there, well was stationed on Camp Pendleton while I was in the marines back in 1999/2000 so I am pretty familiar with the area. But, who knows what it looks like now!
  21. WOOHOO, i was hopin to see someone down there from this forum. I haven't gotten my travel arrangements yet but i'll post em when I do have them. I'm coming in from Colorado.
  22. WoW, thats cool! I wanted to get it done asap. I'm such a procrastinator and something snapped in me, so I had the surgery set as early as possible for me so that I won't put it off LOL.
  23. I can't comment on the Gum, but good job on getting up and about with your new job. As you said, one step at a time and EVERY little bit helps!
