  1. I know her legs rock, I keep telling her that lol!
  2. I was a grazer too, trying to finish up the last bites of my sons meals... it is totally mindless eating so you have to catch yourself and think "ok so the kids didn't finish their food... would I rather "waste" food by throwing it in the trash or trash my "waist" by putting it in my body???" That's a little motto I came up with myself to stop the grazing!
  3. I didn't really get any relief from the pain pills either... I crushed up some regular tylenol and it was horribly disgusting but it did make me feel better!! Even though I am 6 weeks post op I am still afraid of a pill getting stuck, though I am the type that has never liked taking any kind of medicine but it's that time of the month for me and I had bad cramps yesterday so I took 4 of my son's children's tylenol "meltaways" (watermelon flavor, yum) and they really helped and weren't disgusting!!
  4. Here's a link back to Mac's original topic if you'd like to read about the fill process and details! http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?showtopic=5565
  5. Hi Linda!! Can't wait to see you at our OCC Fill Party (that's what I'm calling it, like an OC Botox Party, but better.. lol) it will be so great to catch up with everyone!! That's all back to our regularly scheduled programming..
  6. I was fasting for surgery on the day of my plane ride, and it's only a little over an hour flight from Vegas but if I were you I would check in and then sit and have a canned slimfast right before going through security and then buy yourself some water and a small salad (most airports have a subway) or even that apple/walnut dish that McDonalds has IF you need a snack on the flight... I know it's tough we had a morning flight and the entire terminal smelled like those damn Cinnabons, my mouth was watering... But, this is where you start learning that you need to have your head in the right place and make better choices about food before ever getting your band, luckily it provides a lot of the will power but you have to do the rest (and it sounds like you are already doing wonderfully)!
  7. Kimmie- You can not create a new gallery you can only create a new album, this is where your album page should be http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?auto...&user=11304 so when you're logged in as yourself you should see a button in the top right that says create new album (looks like this: ) Try that..
  8. Sure sweetie, happy to help!!
  9. Dr. M says you can add a small salad to your daily intake, you can even use one of those spray dressings. I did the 2 shakes and lean cuisine because doing just the 3 shakes weren't enough calories for me!!
  10. Could you possibly wrap an ace bandage around your abdomen? That would keep a little pressure on it and maybe help with the pain....
  11. Last I heard it was $1,500 for the year and that did not include the fluro... reference: http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?showtopic=5181
  12. Hello future sister, (lol) I was just going to send you a message on myspace and see how things were with the fill now that you're back on solids!! I am so glad they are going well and that you've got some restriction, those pounds will be melting away soon!! Congrats again babe!
  13. One good this is that the band is manufactured by the same people (and with the same materials) as breast implants and those do have longer clinical trials with no issues... I guess we will have to wait and see!
  14. Claire, You aren't alone- WE ALL HAVE ISSUES... That's why we are getting banded!! Think of this time as a food detox, so you can learn what real hunger feels like and learn to make choices that are right for you and your new band!!
  15. Wow that works out to be 6 - 8 fills per year, so he may not be an aggressive filler... Of course that isn't a bad thing when you've already paid up front and are close enough to return every few weeks!
  16. According to Dr. M's post op guidelines http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?showtopic=5220 #16. You can resume exercise 3 weeks post op and no crunches for 3 months!! I started a few days early and I was fine but you should listen to your own body!!
  17. So glad you are feeling all better, good to know that Activa really works!
  18. Aren't you getting the package of unlimited fills for one flat price from your local doctor? And sometimes a tiny fill is all you need same with the unfill until you get find the general area around your sweet spot, say 2.0ccs but then a month or so later you realize it's not enough so then you get .4ccs more but that ends up being too much and you have to have a .05 unfill till you discover 2.35 is your sweet spot!
  19. There are very few doctors (if any) that don't charge for fills... Technically Dr. Ortiz doesn't but you must pay $100 for fluro each time you are filled at the OCC so it's pretty much the same as being charged... Now many doctors see fills as a way to make money from patients after surgery so instead of giving them a 2cc fill 1 time they will give the 4 fills of .5ccs at a time "for their safety" it's a terrible practice but I have heard those stories about US doctors quite often. Sadly distance and finical reasons do keep some OCC bandsters from coming back as often as they like, I believe Clynn was just talking about this the other day...
  20. That's one of the no-no eating around the band foods, since the band is only able to restrict solids you will find melt-able things like Ice cream, milkshakes, chocolate bars will slip right past it! So I guess frozen yogurt is better for you than real ice cream but I would only have it a few times a month!
  21. I was thinking of just adding a few tablespoons into my chocolate optifast shakes I have for breakfast!
  22. Way to go babe, I went on Thursday for my 3rd pair of new jeans since being banded and it is STILL such a great feeling! My advice is don't buy too many things as you size your way down or you'll end up with a lot of clothes that are too big.. I've been sticking to the basics jeans and maybe 1 or 2 tops that last 2-4 weeks!
  23. quite a few people have discussed this in the past and have had great results, here's a link to those threads: http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?showtopic=5451 http://www.lapbandforum.com/index.php?showtopic=5314
  24. IO had to put mine on Hawaii time too, lol... but now it's fixed and I am back to pacific! Thanks admin...
  25. 4cc bands come in various lengths, someone banded with me has a 9.75cm band that hold 4ccs I believe the 10cc band is 14cm
