  5. I think that by the time I have my surgery (IF I STICK TO PRE-OP DIET) I will go from Morbidly Obese to Severely Obese.....which is exciting for me as I have been Morbidly Obese FOREVER...... Tiny little milestone that will make the hunger pains and bathroom trips worth it.... Amanda The girl thinking of buying depends so I can get some work done
  6. Utahmom, Hello :-h I am getting banded on the 18th, doing ok on pre-op but surviving. Excited but nervous. There is a thread with other people going at the same time as us. Stop by and say hi....I think we are all planning to party in TJ Amanda
  7. Doing Ok, starving truthfully, but oh well. Besides the mental aspect of food, the not smoking is killing me worse. Tried the patch this weekend, appears I am allergic and have a horrible rash to prove it. Still smelling all my friends and co-workers. Oh, and kids and husband had pizza last night, it was all I could do not to lick the sauce off their faces..... ( Is everyone else surviving? PS - Super excited but super nervous
  8. Oh my gosh, it almost 1 week til I fly out. SO nervous, but so excited. How are my fellow bandsters doing on their pre-op? Amanda
  9. I have two thoughts #1 - Not enough water or #2 - Your monthly vistor??? I always retain a ton and bloat bad
  10. Good luck to you. You will be in my thoughts and prayers. Please let us know how it goes.
  11. No worries Kim, I think that we all fall of the wagon at some point. If we didn't we wouldn't be in this position in the first place. I was horrible yesterday too...and gained 1.5lbs for it. Went to an fundraiser dinner with good intentions, needless to say, didn't stick to them. Oh well....right back on the wagon I go (helps that I am hungover). Which I have to admit is better that I have done in a long time. Normally once I failed I would binge until the "next miracle date" for my new diet. **Side note, have to change my ticker....everyone has the treasure**
  12. NEVERMIND, FInally figured it out #-o
  13. I think they were her "last meal".....Red Licorice Ropes.....DELISH... My last meal was Olive Garden. Taco Bell, McD....okay so I went on a week binge prior to pre-op. I have to say I will fill guilty when all the resturants close down because we dont go there anymore....
  14. I am the type of person that is picky when it comes to food (ok well healthy food so I have tried protein shakes in the past, just to spend $30+ on something I will pitch because it is nasty. What a waste. So, I was researching protien shakes on another forum and found information on Vitalady www.vitalady.com and http://www.bariatriceating.com/. They both offer "samples" for about $2.00 a mix. I ordered a ton and plan to keep my order form handy to write if I like it or not. They also come with receipes to "help" with the flavor. Just thought I would share. Amanda
  15. Terri, Looking forward to meeting you! Amanda
  16. HA HA, Not true....we can have broth another night. Yeah for us =D> =D>
  17. I think I have only seen 1 bandster for March post...where are the rest of you? :-? Amanda
  18. So, #1 - I've read that some people get a last meal the night before - So I arrive on the 17th....would love to meet with my fellow bandsters for broth if anyone else is up to it? #2 - Shopping anyone? > Looking forward to meeting all of you! Amanda (The starving girl, who pee's alot
  19. So today is day 1 of my 12 day pre-op diet. This morning woke up a tad cranky. Drove by my morning coffee shop ( , started drinking my water Went to work, had my morning protein shake (actually not bad - semi frozen), drank more water Drank more water - probably lost 15 lbs from walking to the bathroom & pee'ing so much Sniffed all the smokers in the office....considered giving kisses to them :-? Could be sexual harassment - stuck with smelling Went to dr. confessed I am getting baned in Mexico Surprized my dr was actually cool with it. Had a detailed discussion Had my lunch shake (again semi frozen - almost like a shake), more water, more trips to restroom About 130 thought this isn't bad, I can survive this, drank more water OK = at 3:30 my tummy started grumbling, right now (4PM) it is an all out roar....drinking more water Heading home to eat my lean cuisene Decided to save my salad for my snack as I am a tv snacker All in all, I decided I CAN DO THIS, I WILL DO THIS and I am PROUD THAT I AM DOING THIS > **Need to work on tomorrow - Not attacking co-workers that smoke, excersise and sipping not gulping drinks** Amanda
  20. Funny you should ask that. Today is the day I had to quit for my surgery (can I mention I am less then friendly today). I went to my Dr. today and she said there is no magic pill. Recommended Nicorette CQ patches. Racing to pick them up after work.
  21. I believe the fills are free. They charge $100.00 for the floroscopy. I spoke to Carolyn regarding transportation and I think that I was told it would be $180ish. It was under $250.00 for transporation and a hotel room for the night. I am planning on atleast going for my first fill. But due to the kiddo's, I am flying down in the morning and taking a late flight in the evening home. Amanda
  22. I'm glad you are doing well =D> Keep in touch and let us know how the coming weeks are! I'm glad everyone is mentioning the computer access, I had planned on leaving the laptop at home, but think I will bring it. Let us know if you get any shopping done (can you tell I LOVE to shop) and any cool stores! Amanda
  23. I think what everyone is referring to is in the 3 day surgery tour, on day three it state "A recovery period of an additional 24 hours at the hotel is recommended. There, our nursing staff will attend to your needs if necessary. We will provide you with written instructions from our Nutritionist and Surgeon along with a basket of approved liquids, oral medication for pain control and an acid blocker. You are encouraged to relax by the pool, walk around the grounds and enjoy your surroundings during your recovery. The hotel restaurant is also accustomed to providing our patients with approved clear liquids as well. You will be able to enjoy clear broths and juices from the restaurants with your companions. It interesting that no one has received this, although good to know in advance. I will make sure I pack what I need instead of counting on this being there. All I want is to rest (no kiddo's YEAH!!!!) and shop.... Counting down the days. Amanda
  24. I read that two american women started it after they had their surgery in Mexico and had a hard time finding people to do their fills. I was told that Dr. Ortiz sits on their advisory board, but he does not make any money from the Fill Centers. Amanda
