Thanks to all of you for your responses!! I am researching as to nearest location for fill...at a minimal cost travel etc!! I am so envious of all of you who have surgery scheduled!! probably if i was in the lower 48 it would be easier to obtain surgery and the required after care....sometimes alaska is lacking!! thanks so much for the info!!

Hi all was told I need gastric bypass/lapband surgery, I have several co-morbidities, live in alaska--Christall looks like you are a neighbor! I ran across OCC and would like some detailed info, like-how many visits to the center before surgery--(flight cost ouch!) do they do insurance? any hidden costs you found after getting there? I researched several clinics, found a lot to have hidden fees, or didnt want the business based on my location and followups its getting frustrating and i am seriously looking outside the us for surgery! any help would be appreciated!!! thank you!! #-o

Congrats!! i am considering lap-band but have a few questions-do they take insurance, if not whats the cost? did you have to have a consult in mexico to get approval? Yes I could call, however coming from those who have gone thru the process-lets me know about any hidden costs ect I have several co-morbidities and my Primary would like to have me have RNY I am leaning more towards lapband any info would be appreciated!!! Congrats to all who had and are getting the surgery--I am trying to make a sound decision, since i live in alaska. thanks!!
