Well, I'm a bandster. All my fellow new bandsters are asleep and all the families have been shipped back to the hotel. Two popcicles down many more to come I hope and a Capri-Sun. Not to much pain just a knot or two in the stomach literally!!

Did my 20 laps and now I think I'll go watch a football game

Your post ruined my day. That is, if I have to wait three months to go snowboarding. I am going to research this and let you know. The stomach and band are on the inside and shouldn't be too effected by adominal muscles, the sutures surely won't take that long to heal completely. I'll be on the internet all night trying to find these things out

Congrats, I fly to Tiajauna from Denver on Wednesday, surgery on the 7th. I know I am a week behind, so our first fill might not coincide, but there after it might. Do you plan to get them done in TJ or in CO?

If in CO who do you have lined up to do them?

I've got 2 more pounds to go by Thursday, so I think I'll make it. Probably will have to shave chest, much better option of area to shave than when I had a hernia operation. If you know what I mean:) I tried to get a copy of Dr. Ortiz book, but Amazon screwed around after two weeks sent an order confirmation, I said forget it. Now I can't find it anywhere else, I hate going back to Amazon on principle.

Thanks for the encouragement. Today instead of one of my shakes, I pureed and heated some black bleans of the same caloric amount as a shake and had that. Tasted much better and just about as much protein. Still under 1000 calories for the day. I have 4 more pound to go until next Thursday so if all else fails I'll go run 3-4 miles and sweat it out!!

How far in advance do you need to schedule a Fill?

How much are fills? With Floro? Without?

Started liquid pre-op today...munchin on dry broccolli isn't the same as pizza that's for sure. One meal at a time..is the only way I'll make it. Anyone else having surgery on the 7th of September??

My band date is Sept 8. Anybody else going to be at Dr Ortiz between the 7-10, I'd love to get in touch and meet up there. I'm really excited! Nita

I'll be banded the day you get there. Sept 7. So we will pass each other in the hospital I'm sure. My wife will be hanging out waiting for me to recover while your there doing post op. I'll be checking out and you'll be checking in. Good luck

I'm getting banded on Sept. 4 with Dr. Ortiz and I'd like to meet other people who will be flying in to S.D. and getting surgery about the same time, so we will need fills about the same time, and can work out a plan to meet at the airport and take the bus and subway or taxi to the office together. I just don't want to do it by myself and I don't want to pay $130 to get there or I might as well do it here, in Nebr. where I live, because it costs about the same with that transportation fee. I would rather come back to Dr. Ortiz also. Anybody interested in keeping in touch email me and let me know.

Surgery scheduled for Sept 7th.. Where will you be flying out of Denver by chance?

Well, I pulled the trigger. As explained in my other thread, its going to be financed and expensive but I'm tired of putting things off in my life. NO MORE EXCUSES. I will have good health and for once, i'm going to be concerned with myself instead of everyone else!!
