I live in Garden City Kansas. I have thought about going to get my fills here but I am somewhat apprehensive of going to someone new. It always helps when someone recomends their doctor because then you know they have been through it. I will look into going to Dr. Malley and see if he does patients who had their surgery elsewhere. When it comes to the gallstone pain, it doesn't happen often I've only had it twice in a year, but when I get it I get it bad. I am hoping to get surgery this summer after my boards test. Like Dan said I hope to get it done laparoscopically as well. Dawn I go to Manhattan all the time! My aunt and cousin attend the University there. Hello ladies, I have not been on here for ever! I had surgery last April I think the seventh. I have been super busy, I am taking the state Nursing test this May. So needless to say weight loss has not been my number one priority I have only had one fill, I have been so busy with school that when I had time to go get the fill I took a break with my kids. I also hate flying so that doesn't make it any easier. Anyways enough excuses, I am wondering if anybody has had any problems with gallstones after surgery. The summer after my surgery I went to the emergency room with severe abdominal pain. I thought there was something wrong with my band. It turns out I had gall stones, or one to be exact. I was wondering if anybody else went through this since they are more common among overweight people who loose weight rapidly.

I am going for my first fill this sunday and will be having the fill on Monday, I was just wondering who else will be there on Sunday or Monday. I dont' want to be all by myself :lb12: . I was originally going to go on friday the 16 but I changed the date due to flight complications.

I noticed it on my face first. My neck and cheeck area. Hopefully I can see results in other areas soon.

Hello, my name is Susy. I am 26 yrs old. I have two children, my son is six and my daughter is three years old. I am in school hoping to get my RN licence. I was banded on 4-7-08 and it's the best thing I have ever done for myself. I wasn't always big but became really big with both pregnancies. I was able to loose 60lbs. after my son was born but wasn't able to loose the weight with my daughter. I live in Garden City Kansas. It's out in the middle of nowhere! just kidding it's a small community (about 30,000 people) but it's a great place to live except that I would love to live by the ocean or by a river. After nursing school I am planning on moving although I am not sure to where yet. Some of the things I enjoy are pretty much anything outdoorslike: fishing, camping, walking, entertaining, blah blah blah. Anyways, I am really happy to get to know everybody else here and hopefully we can motivate each other to keep up the weight lose. Susy

When you ladies booked your fill appointment how much did they tell you it would be? I was told that the fill package for hotel, transportation & fluoroscopy is $279 dlls per person. So what happened to splitting the transportation costs? I told Rene that we were told we could split transportation costs and he said that was the price per person. Oh well it's no big deal, I just thought otherwise. Well see you ladies there! Susy

Sounds like you are telling my story! My family was shocked that I would consider this. I also contemplated the decision for over a year, and strugled with yo-yo dieting. I finally decided that I just had to go throught with scheduling the appointment and the tickets and then I told them and they were supportive then. At the end it is your health. The main reason my family was against it was that misconseption that some people have about getting surgery in Mexico, but Dr. Ortiz is the best in his field and I am glad I did this with him. I think that ultimately you have to make the decision for yourself. Good Luck and hopefully you can get it you will see that you won't regret it, for me this has been the best decision I have made for myself. Susy

Hey Renee, I am doing good, I am just a little sore. I have been doing good. It's been hard sticking to the liquid diet but I am sticking to it so far. I have lost about five lbs. since I got back which isn't much but it's more than I could have lost by myself. I am going to see about flying that day. What time are you ladies getting to Sand Diego? I would love to go back with you all. I am not feeling hungry at all, but if I don't drink often I get horrible headaches, other than that I haven't had any problems. Susy

I was banded on Monday the 7th, I am doing good. I am also thinking about going back for fill to Tijuana in about 6 weeks.

Hello ladies my name is Susy and I was banded in Tijuana by Dr. Ortiz on Monday the 7th. I was just wondering how everybody that got banded that day is doing, I think there was nine of us? I am doing ok, but I have a constant feeling of having to burp but can't and the gas strips aren't helping . Other than that I am doing good.

That's a great idea, I should do that I sure could use a hair doo.
