  1. Oh my, you look great. Nice waistline. Good for you!!! Are you done loosing? Really, congratulations and I hope to have such a fab figure soon.
  2. Thank you soooo much for your story. It really is inspiring. Keep going to the gym, I know it sucks but its good for you!
  3. Jim, I can't even imagine what you and your family must be going through, I am deeply sorry. Keep your faith and God will see you through. Again, I am so sorry for all the pain and sorrow you all must be feeling. I will pray for you and your family everynight.
  4. I had a lot of nausea when I arrived home from the plane, it will pass. I personally didn't eat creamy soups until day 7 just because I wanted to be very careful. I was banded on June 12 and my port side is still tender but I can actually bend over somewhat now. I have to say that I was suffering from severe gas pain my first 4 days after surgery and when I got home I started taking a pill called Phazyme/ Gas X and walked around the block for about 30 minutes everyday just to relieve the gas. It just doesn't come out that easy. I'm not a burper or farter. You will start to feel more like your natural self, it just takes time and make sure you keep hydrated. I even get shoulder pain that is really annoying when I get too gasy but I just walk it off. Follow the doctors orders to the letter, don't eat solids too soon. You will be fine, just think you are not alone in this, we all did the same thing. Take care and I wish you the best!
  5. I posted a reply on my fainting situation and will update you more when I see my doctor, thank you so much for caring so much. It was a very scary experience and this forum has brought new confiedence in me.
  6. I took everyones advise and made a docs. appt. for Monday. Meanwhile, I spoke to Dr. Martines because Dr. Ortiz is out for the week. Doc said that it sounded like I was suffering from dehydration which caused my blood pressure and heart rate to drop, he said it was my central nervous system reacting and to stay on a liquid diet for a few more days. He also said that if it happens again to go to a cardiologist and have a tilt test done? I'm not planning on waiting to see if it happens again, I'm going to see a cardiologist ASAP. I don't take any medications and have no history of any physical conditions so I'm having a hard time believing that this happened due to dehydration, but I'm no doctor. I'm scared to eat but was brave today and ate 2 meatballs and 2 forks of spaghetti and I'm still ok. I'm very confused as to how much we are supposed to eat. I am just terrified to overeat and at the same time scared not to eat enough. I'm starting the liquid vitamins today. Thank you everyone for your replies and concern, I will let you know what my own doc. says after he checks me out. Oh, DR. Martinez also said to stay away fom eggs.
  7. I ate for the first time aftr being banded last night. I made 1 1/2 scamble eggs with 1 slice of cheese and 1 piece of toast. It took me about 30 minutes to eat because I was chewing it so much that it turned into watery mush in my mouth. I was also looking out for the fool feeling which I never really felt. I was really being careful, so I thought. Now I realize that the foolness feeling isn't like before when I felt it right away, This time it comes slower and then it gets you! After I ate I got up to put my plate away and thought I would go for a walk to digust my food - didn't happen! I felt unbelievable port pain, I thought it was going to explode out of my skin. Then it got hard to breath, I was still in the kithen and went over to the trash can because I thought I would vomit, I started feeling nausea and dizziness and the last words out of my mouth were to my 12 year old son "I think I need help". Next thing I know I woke up to him screaming from the top of his lungs and was about to call 911 (My son said that I was shaking and in my deep sleep I felt my body seizuring) I stopped him and told him to give me a cold compress and some orange juice. I was still on the kithen floor and started to feel faint again, the cold compress and the juice helped and I stayed on the floor trying to calm my son down for about ten minutes until my husband walked in the door. It was very scary and I will really be very careful with my food intake. Now I'm scared that I won't be getting enough nutrition in my body, I don't know. My husband says I needed to start off slowly with little bites of real food not a whole breakfast on my first day. Anyway, for all of you out there please be careful and don't wait for the fool feeling just stop if your not hungry anymore. Thanks for reading
  8. I was banded on June 12 and even though everythng was great, staff was awesome you are never ever ready for any type of sugery. I was blisfully happy until the day came and I was crying and telling my husband to take good care of our son ( very over dramatic!). Believe me when I say these people are the best and you will be in and out before you know it. You walk to the operating room, lie on the table, breath in some stuff, they ask you what kind of music you want to hear ( I chose disco - they only had Last Dance)We all laughed, I sang the fist verse and then woke up. Didn't even know when I went out. I thought for sure that I would be hard to put under but whatever that stuff is its awesome. or gas pain walk, walk, walk and take a pill called Phazyme or gas x. You will be fine. Don't worry about Mexico, I walked all over the place just be careful with traffic.
  9. I was finally banded on June 12 and gained four pounds because I was so bloated. I really suffered a lot with gas pains for the first week. Good news is that I'm down 14 pounds now. Drinking through a straw is definately a No No, it gave me automatic gas and shoulder pain. Question: I seem to still have port pain. Is this common? Everytime I raise my arms the pain comes back. I know its only been two weeks but I am scared that maybe the port flipped. Has anyone experienced long term sensitivity in the port area and for how long? I still have minor shoulder pain and still seem to generate gas which is very hard to leave my body. By the way, I am HUNGRY!!!
  10. Amber, thank you so much for posting your experience. I'm getting banded on June 12 and really can't wait to be over. Everyone has had such a positive experience and I'm glad you had one to add to the list. Congratulations and I wish you all the best with your new friend. felisitie
  11. I'm getting banded on June 12, pre ops on the 11th. I'm excited and can't wait but I seem to be gaining weight instead of loosing it - not good since I was told not to gain any weight under any circumstance! Good luck to all of you and I will be staying at the Lucerna until June 15.
  12. Good for you! I hope to do as well as you when I get banded (June 12). You must feel great - keep up the good work. =D>
  13. WOW, they all looked so great and happy. I can't wait to get banded. It seems that time is moving so slow now that I'm waiting for my day to come (June 12, 08). I'm so excited!
