  1. hi all!

Surgery date is may 23. I try not to think about it, but how can I not? will be starting pre-op diet soon, qroun the 8 or 9. does anyone have any suggestions as to what to do to lose that pre-op weight? I've lost 2 fairly easy, but I am starving and I think I'll gain back and more. I need to drop about 10 lbs from my 220lbs frame. anyone took medecine?

thanks al for your support and once again anyone out there going to TJ on the 22nd, or recently banded, lease keep us informed. It's very exicting, yet scary.

    thanks again!

  2. The start/current/goal weight can be added to your signature. Go to "My Controls" and click edit signature. There you can create your own signature with all the data you would like to show and then click "update signature".

The ticker line is comes from another site and is pasted into your signature. I would not be the best one to explain that.

thanks, i'll let u know how it goes

  3. hi all!

ps. wow so much info, so much reassurance. I almost paid 18,000.00 grants for the same procedure here about a week ago. now I'll be going to TJ with confidence to be banded on 5/23. thanks you all!

  4. anyone out here in the healthcare business? I am talking about patient care. I am a RN in a high level I acuity in a hospital that will undergo this procedure on may 23 and supposed to be back to work a week afterwards. any ideas how to get back to normal without chances of injuring myself? between kneeling, bending, lifting, pulling, running through the hallways, etc... you know what I am talking about. I have yet to tell anyone at work about the procedure. any suggestions, and therefore will be expected to perform at 100%. Thank God for the 3 days on and 4 off/week.thanks =D>

  5. Hi! B)

I was wondering if I was going to be the only one there. It's great to meet you. We will be fine.

Are you bringing any with you? What time does your flight get in from AZ?

    Looking forward to the 23rd.

    Audrey

    hey audrey

southwest flight from az will arrive at 1:35. we're leaving at 12:30 on the 22nd... hoping to have fun the evening before the surgery (shopping, some possible pampering (massages). I know we'll have fun... now make may 22 happen asap. I cannot wait any longer. very nervous and oh soooo excited...

    keep in touch

  6. Hi deparis and Redgridj,

It's natural to get nervous before this kind of surgery, especially if you're traveling out of the country to do it. I am in the healthcare profession and in the past would swear only by my NY physicians. It all felt a little strange to be slipping into Mexico for surgery.

Up to the night before leaving for Mexico, I kept thinking I could back out and all that would be lost would be the deposit and the airfare. But I can assure you, all the positive feedback you read here is the real thing! The staff is absolutely wonderful, they know you're nervous and they are quick to put your mind at ease.

It's been four days since I was banded and unless I look down at my belly and see my scars, I keep thinking it was just a dream. Other than the expected gas from abdominal surgery, I feel wonderful. No shoulder pain, no chest pain....hell, I have more pain from the sunburn I got while sitting down at the pool.

You are at this point in your life because you want to take control. You get to make all the decisions and because YOU are in control, you will do everything it takes to make this successful.

Good luck to both of you.

  8. anyone scheduled for may 23rd? happy and very nervous about this. I know I have to do this, but at the same time, I am freaking out. let say I feel grest and ready to go one day, then what ifs? the next. First time in Mexico, everyone in this forum reassures me I'll be fine. thanks for all the caring words and for sharing your experiences as well. will be flying rom AZ. anyone elsefrom this area? thanks for keeping us newbies straight, and... SANE!

  9. Is anybody else struggling with wanting to eat all the good things you love before being banded?? I'm supposed to do 14 days pre-op, which I would start on May 1st. I'm probably going to start on Monday, April 28th though. But I've been finding that I just want to eat all the good things now that I enjoy, as I know I won't be able to for a long time. Kind of like that "last meal" before starting a new diet. anyone else facing this struggle?

I am going through the same thing, my banding is scheduled for the 23rd of may. My thing is bread, french baguette. feel like I have to eat it now, because I will not anymore soon. I ill start my diet soon, around the 8th-10th of may. Just keep in mind the food is always going to be there, but the surgery could be denied to us because of lack of self-control, and what a shame would that be?
