  1. Just to repost...I am getting my 2nd fill on the 26th and staying overnite until the 27th. I will arrive at the hotel after my fill probably around 4 or so and then have to leave in the Am for a 2pm flight home. Maybe I'll see OICU812? Hope to meet anyone here on the forum.

I'll be there. I get my first fill on the 25th and my daughter and I are staying till the 27th. I'll be the fat guy of course, but the one whose clothes are starting to be quite baggy on him.

  2. Yes, its been a while. As of 6pm tonight, its been 21 days since I chewed any food. That's 30,240 minutes since I had that filet at the Lucerna the night before my surgery. I have been very faithful to the post op diet. Nothing but clear liquids for the first 7 days, then a couple of days with 1 drinkable yogurt a day, and I really would have rather not drank that awful stuff, then 1 can of creamy soup a day for the rest. I did throw in a couple of frozen yogurts in there, but alas, 54 lbs of me are gone since July 1 when I made the call and it's been easier that I thought it would be.

Tonight after 6pm, after the promised 1,814,400 second timeout from that which has made me what I was, I shall attempt to consume a small amount of meat and vegetable protein matter without consuming mass quantities. I just hope I don't find any of the afore mentioned 54 lbs. (24.54 kg. in Canada).

Just wondering what did you have when you could have food again? I have thrown around everything in the culinary arsenal, from steak, to potted meat and I thing just a good old hamburger and maybe some baked potato might do the trick. That will probably change several time between now and 6:01pm though.

  3. The more I read about other people's relationships, the more I realize that I have the perfect wife, and 2 perfect daughters and that I probably don't tell them nearly enough. Maybe she'll read this. They have supported me in this and in every other scatter-brained idea I might have had and I appreciate it.

Stormy, when I read your post, it seemed very sincere. I just wonder if you've ever said the exact same words to your husband. If not, I hope he reads it and feels the same hurt that you feel. I don't understand how he couldn't, but if not, maybe it is time to part ways.

  4. I had my band surgery at OCC on Thurs. Aug. 14. I don't even remember them putting me to sleep. My wife said it took about 40 min. Dr. Ortiz talked to her after the surgery and said everything went great. I had lost about 38 lbs. before the surgery and he said he could tell when someone had lost the weight before surgery and when they had not, so my suggestion is to lose what they tell you to lose.

After the surgery I was up and doing my laps in the hallway in less than an hour. I think I about walked a groove in the floor. When it came time for my wife to go back to the hotel, I told them that I felt great and what about me going back too, so they took me back. We walked laps around the pool that night and I had hardly any pain at all, and slept very well that night.

The next day we went back to the OCC and met with Dr. Miranda. Afterwards, we went shopping on Revolution Ave. and my wife picked up some deals on those "designer" name purses and jackets. On Sat. we went to the border and waited in line for 45 min. with all the locals to cross the border, caught the trolley into San Diego and went to the zoo and walked that whole thing, then caught the trolley up to Old Town and walked all over there. We then caught the trolley back to San Ysidro and crossed back over the border and walked down to Revolution and caught a cab back to the Lucerna. We put some serious miles on our shoes that day.

On Sun. morning they picked us up at 4am to take us back to the airport. Not too bad of a wait to get back in the states at that time of morning.

All in all, I can't believe it was that easy. Never took any of the pain pills they give you. Only took a couple of gas strips, but they were really only precautionary. Never really had much in the way of gas pains at all. I think the people who said to walk all you can are right on. I walked a bunch and I think it helped. The incisions are tiny and not sore at all. Today is day 6 of clear liquids and I haven't had a problem with it. I guess I just keep waiting for something bad, but just hoping it doesn't come.

Just want to take a minute to thank the people on this board who have given some good advice, so Thanks.

  5. Lol that is crazy, well if she can post there then I am going to post here: http://myfreeimplants.com/index.asp because heck we all need free implants! lol

    MamaMichelle,

I have registered with the site and appropriated the sum of $3.00 IN CASH for seed money to get the silicone flowing. Might as well get ordained by one of the internet sites as some type of religion so at least I can get a tax deduction.

  6. I saw that a few days ago. I'll make a better deal. If someone will spring for mine, I'll tattoo your face or whatever you want. I've got some room left, like maybe enough for a billboard. I could probably tattoo an actual size "weight appropriate" person on my back.

  7. I know you are frustrated, but you can do it. I started my pre-op diet on July 1 and was told I needed to lose 30 lbs to have my surgery by mid August. I thought it would be tough. I was down 28 lbs. this morning, so I'm almost there. I have been having a protein drink( I use the EAS whey protein in chocolate from Sams Club and it is very good), having a lean cuisine and salad for lunch, and a lean cuisine and salad for supper. I sometimes have some sugar free jello for snack at night. Check the protein drink that you are using and make sure it doesn't have alot of sugar or fat, some do. Like others have said, maybe you need more calories or protein to get the process rolling. I'm sure Dr. Miranda will be able to help you on this. She has been very encouraging to me.

  8. Wow, some of you have alot of pets. I don't know how you keep up with them. We have a 14 lb. puggle (pug/beagle) that is a solid muscle, but she is as timid as can be. She looks like she could destroy a dog twice her size, but she would just lick them to death. She will play ball until your arm is sore from throwing it. We also have a 9 lb. miniture dachsund that thinks he is a 100 lb. Rottweiler. I really need to get that dog on one of these obedience shows. I guarantee that they would give up on him. He is the only 9 lb dog I have ever seen that can take 2 5 lb. dumps a day. We take them to the lake just about every weekend and they are fixtures on our boat. I even had to build a little ramp so thy could go up and down into the water since they both love to swim.
