Good Luck...keep plugging away....get a good diet program to follow, something that will help with the evening hunger....that is what I'm having trouble with...going to try Weight Watchers....next fill in November or sooner if I can get it done locally....

Well Mom....the lap band is an excellent way to ASSIST with the weight loss...A proper diet has to be followed and excersize will naturally be easier. Slowly but steady excersize...The cost in Canada two years ago, $18000.00, Seatle was $15000.00 Mexico $8500.00...The fills are cheaper in Mexico and the care is second to none....If you can get past the soldiers and police with machine guns, opps can't forget the traffic.... you'll do fine. Presently I have only one fill. 3cc in a 10cc band and having trouble with a diet program, from Atkins to a more convenient one. Lost 70lbs and gained 20 back, so need to get the band filled and get a good diet program. Good Luck...

I am looking into WLS, specifically the Band, for my 18 year old son who is well over 300 lbs at about 6'3". Scoping it all out ahead of time, mother that I am, before I ask him his thoughts about it. I don't want to offend him by suggesting it - but I do want to learn all I can about it in advance, including the expenses - not one word of which I've seen specified on this site. I want to know that it is financially possible before I offer it to him. There are very few men on here and I really want to see this from a man's perspective, challenges and all. If my son wants to go for it I will support him completely - but I sure would like some inkling of the costs.
