  1. Carrie Just wanted to say congrats! Yes, you can tell a major difference. I understand what you are dealing with. I have lost 41 pound as of last Monday. I know I have lost the weight, but I dont feel in my mind 41 pounds lighter. For some reason I thought I would feel lighter, but I dont. Kinda weird. Anywa, you are doing great, keep up the good work! Carrie
  2. Lisa, This is pretty cool. It says my happy weight is 144....uhmmm I dont EVER remember being 144, not sure if I was even born at 144...lol. Honestly I cant even imagine being that, in a weird way its kinda scary for me to even imagine. I can remember weighing around 198 in Junior high, always have been a fluffy girl. This is TRUELY going to be life changing in ever way possible. Carrie
  3. Jenelle, You are doing great!!! You have lost 40 pounds and yeah you ate bread. Im sure everyone of us on this forum has eating something we are not suppose to eat. LORD knows I have! Keep your head high and next time you see bread, just try to be stronger and let yourself know that that is a no no food and do your best. That is all we can do, is our best. Congrats on your weight loss and good luck with your fill! Carrie
  4. Congrats Kristy! I cant wait to get to that 50lb mark myself. I think you should take all the pictures you can. I have a friend that had lapband two years ago last month and weights 129 lbs. She did not take pictures and REGRETS it. That is one thing she told me to do. I hate pics as well, but am trying to take them about every month. If you do decide, please post the pics for us to see, I would love to see your progress!!!!!! Just think, that would be another accomplishment for you as well! Again Congrats! Carrie
  5. I eat spices, dont seem to bother me, but am careful being we cant drinkk. How much fill do you have now. I am debating my third fill on the 13 of this month. I know everyone is not the same, but just wondering what the big differences is between the second and the third. I am scared of getting too tight, but I think I need a little more. Carrie
  6. Kristy, You are doing wonderful as chiki said. Congrats on the weight loss. I have my third fill scheduled March 13 but still very undecided if I am going to get it. My fill Doc and Dr. Miranda are telling me I need to eat more calories. She also stated that tightness does not always mean weight loss, but could only give you complications in eating your food....She told me I was not eating enough calories to eat more...... My day I usually would eat a protein shake for Breakfast (very tight in the morning) and have a Lean Cuisine for Lunch and Dinner. I can eat the whole normal size Lean Cuisine. HOWEVER, I have been working my butt off for the past three weeks with walking, weights, abs..etc and cant seem to get the scale to move. I was getting hungry between my meals and said to myself I need a fill. Well my fill Doc told me I might need a slight fill and to start adding snacks between meals. I have started adding the High protein snacks and it is working very well. It is also giving me my calories for the day. I posted a thread about the snacks and Jazzy made a comment about packaged/processed foods and it got me thinking. I pulled a Lean Cuisine from my freezer and starting reading. I NEVER thought about reading Lean Cuisine because it gives you the calories and fat right on the front of the Box. WELL ! the first one was Turkey, stuffing and Apples MY FAV Lean Cuisine and OHMYGOSH!!!! Yes it only has around 280 calories but the CARBS and the SUGAR that are in the meals is UNREAL!!!! HIGH, VERY HIGH, carbs and sugar.... I was so frustrated, I have been eating this twice a day for 2 weeks!!! So with that said I have now starting "preparing" my on meals again with portion control. I am going to stay away from packaged or canned as much as I can and see if this helps any! I dont know how you feel about Carbs but I have always heard they were BAD, I just was not aware there were so many in a Lean Cuisine. Good luck too you! Carrie
  7. Lisa, You are AMAZING and such an inspiration. I remember when I started researching for this band, I came upon this sight and saw your post and pics. You, like so many others, gave me hope and encouragement. I remember sending you a message before I ever booked my surgery and told you how amazing you where and if I was do do half of what you have done I would be blessed. Well I have lost 41 pounds so far and you are one of the reasons that I work SO hard with this tool. Yeah it gets very frustrating when you ARE eating the right food and working your butt off with weights, Cardio and maintaining your fills and still seem to struggle. HOWEVER, I always remember the day I logged on and seen your post and your pics. TRUELY AMAMZING.....You have done wonderful and again I would like to say if I do half of what you have done, I will be blessed. You will always be my "poster child"! Congrats and best of luck with this new journey! Carrie
  8. Thanks Dana, I will check that website out..... Carrie, hang in there girl. I am trying something a little different this week that I have been doing, I am adding HIGH protein snacks into my day so I am eating about 5 times a day and I am making myself drink the water. I am also changing my work out times and not doing the same workout everyday. I hope this helps. Just a questions, have you been tracking your measurements, maybe you are shrinking in inches instead of weight . I keep telling myself that maybe I am replacing some of my "fluff" with muscle do to working out EVERY day now. Anyways keep your head high. You are a bea u ti ful Girl! You can do this! Carrie!
  9. Jazzy, Can you give us examples of your new routine. I have too started hitting the weights and cardio HARD! Also can you tell us some websites to track you carlorie intake? Thanks! Carrie
  10. Congrats Jenelle! I dont think I have every worn a belt, if I did it was when I was a little girl. Im still watching my towel after showers.. Im gonna get that thing around me!!!!.. .lol Again Congrats! Carrie
  11. Thanks for the advice. I did snack yesterday and it was much better. I had almonds for monring snack and a protein bar for afternoon. I did email Dr. Miranda and this is what she said. I shared this with Miss Parris in another post as well..... Dear Carrie: Plautus are part of losing weight also. Tighter bands do not guarantee weight loss but only complications. If you are at a pleatu it will pass (patience). But if you are eating only 1/3 of your typical meal you do not need a fill. You may however eat a bigger breakfast and only a very very light dinner. nothing after 7:00pm. Drink green tea and have a tablet of chromium picolinate for 3 weeks. Please keep me informed, I will email you a diet tomorrow morning. Dr. Miranda
  12. Mrs. Parris, As you know I too have been thinking about a third fill. I emailed Dr. Miranda and thought I would share her response. I have a 3rd fill scheduled for the 13th of March, HOWEVER I am going take the advice of Dr. Miranda and see how this goes..... 13. Hi Everyone! I need some advice. I have had two fills and have put myself on Protien shake for breakfast and Lien Cuisine for Lunch and Dinner with a 100 Calorie snack pack each day due to the fact I CAN NOT GET THE SCALE TO MOVE! . I have started working out each morning, riding my stationary bike for about 6 miles and then hitting the weights for about 20 mins. I also walk about a mile a half every other day. I started this monday before last. I have a total of 2.5cc in my 4cc band and this week I have started becoming hungry, not head hungry, stomach hungry and fiber pills are not helping. I need to up my water intake I do know this. I called my fill doctor which is in Texas and she stated that I need to be eating 5-6 times a day. Correct me if I am wrong but I thought we were only suppose to have 3 meals a day with no snacks. She told me that I need to eat breakfast, lunch and Dinner and up my calorie in take, which is around 1,000. It hard to hit 1200 with Lien Cuisines twice a day. She said that I need to eat a snack in the morning like chesse and a snack in the afternoon, Almonds was her suggestion. She stated if this does not help that I might need a fill. What does everyone think about the snacks. Do I snack or do I not snack? Carrie
  14. Mrs. Parris, Just wanted to say Job well done! You are doing great. I too am debating a third fill. I have put my self on Portion and Calorie control this past week and this week, just to make sure I am doing what I am suppose to do on my part. I have protien shake for Breakfast and a Lien Cusine for Lunch and Dinner with a 100 calorie snack pack each day. I am on day eight of this. I get up every morning at 6 and ride my bike for 25 miles, which is about 6 miles and then I do my weights. Sunday my hubby and I have made a decision to start walking the track for 2 miles everyother day. It does get frustrating when you DO pass on the Donuts and the sweet that you are around and fast foods that you pass EVERY day, when you ARE doing what you are suppose to do and the scales dont seem to move. The only thing that I need to do better is my liquid intake. I have never done well with this. I weight on Wednesdays and Mondays and it seems like since my first fill, I bounce up on Monday and down three on Wednesday, up on Monday down on Wednesday. This morning was the first Monday in over a month that I was actually down on Monday, so I am crossing my fingers I will be down on Wednsday. Please let me know how your third fill goes if you decide to get it! Good Luck to you and keep up the good work.... Carrie!

  17. Hi, I have two fills with a total of 2.5CC. I have had my second fill almost 3 weeks. I can not eat Food in the morning and can not eat eggs period. I drink a protien shake everymorning for my breakfast. Lunch and Dinner I can eat my 3oz and 1/2 cup of veggies. I have ALOT of issues with meat like chicken white or dark, pork chops and steak, it dont matter how much I chew I have problems. You might want to try softer foods for a bit. Good Luck! Carrie
  18. She really does work at the BEST SALON IN LUFKIN!!!!!

  19. HEY!!!!!!!!!

I am so glad you joined this forum...It is a great place, you will love it here!

  20. Shelby, You are so right!. Even though I get frustrated, this is the best thing I have ever done. This tool has taught me so much about my past eating habits and the right food choices to make. I would have NEVER done this before. Yes it may take me 2 weeks to loose two-three pounds but I dont gain them back! This tool has given me pride in myself to WANT to do this and to MAKE the CHOICES to change my life. Like Shelby said, it is worth every penny. The frustation, it only makes me work that much harder! Carrie
  21. OICU812, You are doing great and this post is very inspiring. I have a supportive hubby and yes it makes such a difference and thanks to her you are working Im sure even harder to be where you want to be!!!! Again congrats and keep up the good work! Please Keep us posted!
  22. Hi Cindy, I too get frustrated. I have had two fills and I have to work very hard to get the scale to move. I have heard so many people say write down what you are eating and make sure yu are getting your 1200 calories in a day. My hubby and I are going to start this tomorrow. I am going to drink a protein shake for breakfast and I am having a Lien Cuisin for Lunch and Dinner. This will give me my calorie and portion control. I am going to do this for one week to see if this makes a difference. I am kinda stuck. I have considered getting another fill, but I think I will be too tight if I do. There are already certain foods, like eggs, that I can not eat. Anyway hang in there and keep up the work, you are not by yourself with this one! Carrie
  23. Hi Everyone! I just wanted to write some thoughts and tell everyone thanks for the support we have on this forum. I have had two fills and still have to watch and count everything I do. I have found that this is not a magic little band, only a tool. I have read alot of post from people getting frustrated, I have so many days I get very frustrated. I do have great restriction and still have to work very hard to get the scale to move . However I still am grateful I was in the position to be able to get this WONDERFUL tool. I have posted pics, just waiting to get them approved. Would LOVE everyone to take a look at them. As I have said before, I can never remember being skinny, and it is becoming a reality day by day. I started my pre-op diet and lost 17lbs before surgery and today almost 3 month post op I am 2lbs away from 40lbs gone!! I hated taking pictures, would always stand in the back for ANY picture that was being taken and for me to be able to post the pics of my self that I have posted, well I will say this is my FIRST NSV!!!! I have the courage to say, you know it was time for me to do something for MYSELF!! I still have a very long way to go, but I am really proud of the progress I have already made. My family has been so supporative. My husband has truley been my BEST FRIEND through out this. He has also started working out with me, taken vitamins and fiber EVERYDAY and drinking protein shakes with me. I will say not only is this changing my life but it is changing everyones around me. I am so thankful that I have found this forum, everyone is so supportive! Good Luck to everyone! Carrie
