  1. Thanks guys! I have now added papaya enzymes to my list of "have to have on hand". I am being banded at OCC Dec 2. I want to make sure I have anything and everything I need at home upon my return just in case I'm not feeling up to running out. I'd love an itemized list of "must-haves" if anybody has one! I've been researching this for more than three years but as my date approaches, I'm feeling confused and overwhelmed likely due to information overload. So far my list looks like this....please add to it where you see fit. Thanks! Sabrina:) Protein Water (for liquid phase) Liquid Vitamins (Note I ave a VERY sensitive stomach so if you know of some that won't upset it....) Liquid Tylenol (I can't take any NSAIDS so most other over-the counter meds are out) Some kind of dissolvable fibre???? Crysal light to go packs broth cubes/packets Gas strips (I've never heard of these, help!) jello protein shakes and Lean Cuisines for pre-op diet a variety of juices (for liquid phase)
  2. I'm glad to hear all of your husbands have finally come around. I am so worried mine will not. He still thinks it is the easy way out and he will not go to a seminar, read any articles or books I give him, etc etc. He too says he loves me as I am and that I should just be happy with who I am. I am not. He refused to pay for this out of our "family money" so I got a second job and saved for it. It's taken more than three years but I'm booked for a month from today! My mom is going with me and he and I have agreed to disagree.
  3. Hey ladies! My surgery is Tuesday, Dec 2nd but I plan to be at the hotel until the morning of Friday, Dec 5th so I guess I'll see you there! If I understand the rules properly, we should be able to eat small amounts of solid foods just in time for Xmas! What a great Xmas gift after weeks of liquids!
  4. OMG!!! You guys have me so scared about the burping. I am a radio announcer and if I start burping uncontrolably, that will be the end of my career! I know it probably sounds funny but I can't be burping in the middle of my news and traffic reports. I'm supposed to be banded Dec 2nd. Should I reconsider??? Also, I didn't take any time off work and plan to be back on the air four days after my surgery. Bad idea? Sabrina:)
  5. I've been researching and lurking around these sights for more than three years. After attending a WLS support group last week, I decided to book my surgery. I'm having it on Dec 2nd. My mom will be flying down with me. I'm from Vancouver, BC, Canada. Can't wait to start teh next chapter of my life!
