I had surgery 12 11 and it took me about 16 days to not feel the pain in my shoulder. My port area is still sensitive.

It takes a little time for you to heal. Feel better.

Sorry to hear you are in such pain, however, I was banned on the 11th and suffered with this severely. I took 400 ibuprofen crushed mixed with Tylenol pain liquid cherry and did this every 4-6 hrs. I also made certain I drank only warm liquids I used a massager and took hot showers as well. I also used an ice pack. Mine finally went away after day 16 and has not returned.

I do not ever want that pain again. It will go away. in time.....

How does one test their fill before leaving Tijuana?

Is it still recommended to stay overnight when having a fill?

I had surgery on December 11 at OCC. I am extremely sensitive to pain and medication, however, I have been taking Ibuprofen 800 mg. 1/2 a tablet crushed mixed with Tylenol Cherry extra strength pain reliever every 4 -6hrs or so. I have had shoulder pain and this has helped along with the gas x strips taken daily.

I am also on liquids and when I feel nausas I take a Dramimine tablet. I have rested and pampered. Hopefully this will help as you are not alone with these feelings. They will subside.

I also make certain everything I drink is diluted with hot water. The Gatorade and Juice etc. I do not drink anything cold.

I am pleased you spoke with OCC as they are there for us and exceptional.

Yes, we all experience this. It's normal. Dont worry it should be gone in a week or 2.

I am one week post op today and I am now feeling some discomfort in the port loaction.

Have you bansters experienced this ? I understand we are all different, however, if this is normal when does it usually subside.

I was thinking the exact same thing about the violence. I have surgery on Jan2. Does anyone know if this latest violence being reported is in

the same area as OCC and our Hotel? I am with you, I am not scared for surgery, I am worried about the violence.

I just returned Saturday from surgery with Dr. Ortiz. He and the entire staff are awesome.

From the moment you arrive the experience is par excellence

I did tip Carlita and Rosa as I was extremely grateful for their attentiveness for every little sigh. They were very appreciative.

The Hotel Lucerna is comfortable and clean with a smiling accommodating staff.

All of the food at the restaurants at the Hotel had excellent service as food presentation and taste as I feasted my eyes on my husbands entrees without a wince of hunger.

The Brunch on Saturday was beautiful and appealing.

We did venture out Friday evening to the Restaurant 2 blocks from the Hotel for the ambience and Mariachias. Festive and typical Mexican fun environment. I brought my own broth and had some before and after the festivities, although I did not feel any hunger pangs. There is a coffeemaker in the room for coffee and hot water.

There is also an excellent Taco stand one block from the Hotel on the way to the Restaurant. Clean and delicious. They serve a delicious broth with cilantro and small onion pieces for flavor. Sipping flavor was perfect.

We walked with another couple and felt quite safe and had a nice evening.

Relax, enjoy your journey. Make it a good one. You are in the best of hands and care!

Yes, it's normal. After all you are only on liquids. Ocne you get on the protein shakes, that will help a lot.

Is it protocol not to have protein shakes after surgery. Even if the protein is mixed with water?

EAS Myoplex from Sam's Club. Get the powder, it is much better tasting than the ready to drink boxes.

I find EAS MYOPLEX, this to be the best one, tastes great. I mix 1 scoop with cold water then add hot(not boiling) water. Warm and delicious

Hi scott, I'm assuming you are a guy, My son was banded in January and his scars are covered by hair. but they are not very visible. Mine are not covered by hair (thank god) LOL, and I was banded in May, I wore a 2 piece all summer and only one time did someone ask me how I got scratched, I told them a friends cat.. Only the large scar above the port is visible.

There are some pictures of scars on here, just don't know the links off hand. Maybe if you just search scars, it will pop up for you.

You may not need several fills. Just work the heck out of the band and your fills. I have only had 2 fills and have lost 53 lbs and am 15 lbs away from goal. Don't forget to EXCERSISE!!

Goodness me! I had a round-tavle meeting last Friday and, of course, right on cue before the supervisor said anyting, my stomach just did this LOUD growling, gurgling noice. EVERYONE was looking at me because it was so long of a sound. I KNOW I turned beet red!!! I just shrugged and the guys were hiding their smiles...!

i believe it was 14%, but I'm paying it off quickly by paying against the principal each month.

PBing is talked about in many other topics. It's where you have difficulty for a minute or so with gases escaping the stomach (thus the burping) due to the restricted opening from the band. It happens to us all.

I'm well. I go to Roswell GA for my fills, since I'm on the east coast. I've had an issue with PBing, but it was due to a stomach virus that caused band irritation. It perpetuated itself for a while, but seems to be under control now.

I used one of the two on the OCC site, that tend to focus on medical procedures... Citerra I think it was. They approved me quickly, and the only glitch was the day they wanted my payments. I needed the date AFTER my payday, not a week before. After that, I put it on an automatic payment, and things went perfectly.
