hi Lea and BMEagain! I work in Bellflower (live in San Bernardino County) and I was also self-pay my BMI was between 33 and 34. I am very happy with the lapband eventhough I haven't lost that much (only 28 punds in 7 months). I would love to be in a support group as well! So count me in! XOX Carla

Hi everybody!! I was banded Dec 5, and like 4 days after surgery I started having a sensation in my throat, like a lump is in there. It is no painful but it is very uncomfortable :lb12: It feels like a have something in there all the time!. I have no problem swallowing it just the feeling that something is stuck in there. It sounds gross, but I tried to feel it by sticking my finger in and nothing!! I don't know what to do!!! This sensation is making me crazy .Does any one havegone through the same?? What can I do for this to go away??????? :lb12: PLEASE HELP!!!!! THANKS

Hi flgirl, I was also banded Dec 5 and HONEY I FEEL YOUR PAIN!!! I still feel really bloated (specially at night), sometimes gas-x helps, also I try to get busy with something else and not put to much attention about it (when I get distracted, i don't think to much about it). I also been having a lot if headaches, i assume it's beacause I am not eating like I used to!!. Hang in there and know is tough but is worth it, I think we will feel better once we start eating solids (only five and a half days away!!! > :D ). Hi there! I did it! and it went well! Thank you for all your support I in my 4th day and I have been struggling with the pain in my left shoulder and my chest (when I burp). I don't know if I am hungry but I feel a hole in my stomach I hope I will feel better tomorrow since I have to go back to work (and no one knows about my sugery I was told that I could start drinkable yogurt today but I am afraid. Did anyone drink it at day 4th? Well, Thank you very much again for all the support, without it I don't know if I would've made it

Hello everyone, first I want to thanks all of you that gave word of encourage. Thanks to you (and God) I Made it!! I got at the OCC yesterday morning, my surgery went well, just last nigh I fell really nauseated and I thouht I was going to votim. Thankfully the nurse (carmelita, she is relly a sweehart) gave some zofran immediately and some massage in my back for the pain, that worked GREAT!. Today I've been feally relly sore and burping a lot , burping hurts more that anything, Is that normal? I feel like my chest is going to explode! I'vee walking and resting drinking (zipping out) gatorade and water. But I sitll have the gas pain. What else can I do? Thanks again for your suppurt I'll keep in touch Carla

OMG! I don't know what's wrong with me, now that I am really close to my surgery (abut 36 hours away) I am getting so scared and have some much doubts about my surgery. Is this normal? I can't sleep or even concentrate in my work. I've been so stress that I got a really bad cold sore in my lips (usually trigger by stress). I am always thinking: what if something goes wrong during surgery? Am I prepared for the changes? What happen after surgery? How will I feel after? I'm not really good with pain so, will I be able to handle the pain? is there alway pain after the surgery? Do you feel normal or you always feel something in your stomach? OMG! I have some many questions! :lb12: I even thought about cancelling or re-scheduled! Is there any one that felt that way right before surgery? Please help me !!!

hi there, sorry I did not answer earlier but I've been a little busy. I actually moved my date from the 12th to the 5th. I could not wait any longer! . I wasn't scared before, but I am ow that the day is getting closer but I try to calm adn think that it's the beggining of something really good! Hello there! My husband finally said Yes! So I am having surgery Dec 12, not a good time since I always have Cristhmas dinner with the whole family at home, but I will manage. Keep up the good work gals and guys!

Thank you very much to every one !!! This forum is amazing! I love it already (and I haven;t done the Lap band yet ) Thank you for your words of support. I showed it to my husband and he was really surprise and I think he is feeling better about the surgeryy. He told me he is afraid something bad would happend to me but now he is undertading that it will benefit not only me for our relationship as well (since I feel depress most of the time because of my weigth). Like you guys said, he is afraid about doing it in Mexico, his Mom had Lipo done in Mexico (long time ago though!) and she almost died, but since you guys described the hospital that clean and nice and since we are going next week I feel pretty good he will said YES!!!! Thank you again and I am really excited about meeting Dr Ortiz next week.

Hi everyone, I am new here in this forum so I really don't know how it works I've been thinnking in doing the lap band for the last 6 moths but my husband does not agree with it. I finally convinced him to go with me for a consultation with Dr Ortiz (November 6). I am really excited about it. If I could I would do it tomorrow. I am 5'1 and 185 pounds and I've been struggling w/ my weight all my life . I have done eveyry single diet out there some times I do OK but I always get everything (or more) back. I am happy that there is a place like this forum where I can find support from others that undestard what it's like . I hope once we talk to Dr ortiz my husband says OK.
