  1. I am curious, how many calories do most of you eat a day? Please be honest. I am wondering what you were told and how many you are using. I was looking through my paperwork that I received 1 year ago just to brush up and help motivate myself. I could not find the paper thaht suggested how many calories to count. I would sure appreciate everyones input on this. I need my battery charged. lol I have been under the weather since July and had to have all of the saline removed. I still have not had a refill yet, but I am ready to get back on the wagon. Since July I have gained back 7lbs.. Since I weighed myself I have been maintaining. Thanks, Anne
  2. Are you from Oregon? I really appreciated hearing how you receive your fills and would be interested in knowing how much they cost. I live on the very east side of the state but would be willing to drive the distance to have good care.
  3. Hello, I am curious as to what you mean when you said "that she keeps filling until you say stop"? I do not have the option here of having a flouroscopy either. Maybe I am not paying attention, but I have no clue how to know when I have had enough. Please let me know. Anne
  4. Arlene, You are looking great! It has been quite awhile since I have visited this site also. I am glad that I did, reading everyone elses' experiences and questions motivates me to get with it! I have been very lax. Anne
  5. I too have the hiccup signal. Unfortunately I have tried one too many times to eat that extra bite. Not good. Thanks for the post Angie. It is such a great reminder to be more careful if we want this to work and to have less discomfort.
  6. Maybe you should write a book, since you have us all by hook, line and sinker. Okay sista, give us the info.
  7. First of all I have say thank you to Sabrina. I was checking my email, and there was a short note from Sabrina. I have no idea how long it has been since I have visited this sight, but I definitely needed it for the encouragement and to be a part of lap band. Well, I am back. It has been a very difficult last 6 months. Coughing that couldn't be diagnosed, that went into pneumonia, which led into vomiting, which led into strep throat, which led into pneumonia. Long story short, I ate, I vomited, I drank, I vomited. My joke with my husband and doctor was "that I couldn't even lose weight as an anorexic". I now have had a complete refill and I am looking forward to being able to start the process all over again. It is so encouraging to see those of you that say you have lost slow but have lost anywhere from 50-80lbs. in a year. I had my goal set for a 100lb. loss for Dec. 15th, which is my one year anniversary. Now I am happy with my 78lbs. and realize that I have never lost this much weight and been able to keep it off. Again, Sabrina, you have no idea what a boost this has been for me to get back to focusing on the positive. Anne
  8. Congratulations !!!!!!!! Wow, and just before Christmas. There can't be a better present than this that you could give yourself. Merry Christmas.

  9. I haven't been on this sight for several months. I just have to say - wow! Shelby you are looking very beautiful. Anne
  10. You know there is one more example of how we are all banded. I am at work and I cannot keep the laughter in. I had meant to ask for a pair of those "Victoria Panties" but I forgot to ask. I woke up so drugged that I can't remember what happened with the panties, but since they were not to be found, I guess they went like all of the others. Laughter is the best medicine. We have had our battles, but I have to say it sure is a lot of fun when we can relate to the funny things. Anne
  11. I am speechless!! You look fantastic. You must feel so good about yourself, besides just feeling so good. Way to go. May we all follow in your foot steps. Have a great Labor Day weekend. Anne
  12. Kim, It does wonders to hear what others do in certain situations. I have little or no restriction at this time, and I have been eating too large of portions. Having egg salad or chicken salad handy sounds like a good way to help me get back to focusing on using this band. Thanks for the input. Anne
  13. Just like Kristi said "doesn't it feel good to not have to go to the plus sizes anymore"? I can't believe the boost it gave me when I no longer had to aim for those stores or those sections. The selections are so much better. The larger women stores are going to miss us, but we are not going to miss them!
  14. Those must be size "12"s that you are wearing. Lookin good!!!!
  15. With my computer down at home, I can only get on this site at work. I also am in a size 12. What I don't understand is how can I weigh this much and be in a size 12. I have 3 that I bought at Christopher Banks that have a little spandex in and they slide right down over the hips. Feels good, but I also know that they must not be a true 12. I have other size 12s that I have bought off of the rack at other stores and it feels so good. I can't wait to wear a size 10, I cannot remember the last time that this body wore it. :scratch_one-s_head:
  16. Hi, Several weeks ago I had to have an unfill of .2cc. I went for over a week with exactly that same kind of pain. I eventually started getting a dry cough that would then trigger vomiting. I went to my doctor, who prescribed a generic prilosec (insurance will cover the prescription). She also does not know anything to do with the lapband, other than that I have one. I ended up having to get an unfill because the pain in my throat was still there and needed to heal. I am now ready to get a fill, but I will continue with the prilosec until my doctor recommends that I go off of it. Good Luck, I think it probably is acid reflux by the sounds of it, but you may want to get it checked out. Anne
  17. Congratulations Kristi! The size of the clothes that I wear really impacts me also. What a great idea to focus on the size and not the scales number. :lb23: Anne
  18. Welcome, You have come to the right place to get your questions answered. It is amazing how much encouragement and/or confirmation you will receive from others. This is an exciting time. Anne
  19. I just posted on another topic that I have found Centrum daily vitamin for adults that are chewable. They are orange flavored and small. They are also pleasant tasting. I cannot stand the liquid Centrum for adults! I tried several times to take it but it gags me. Good Luck! Anne
  20. Centrum has a liquid vitamin - I cannot stomach it. Centrum also has an adults orange chewable daily vitamin. They are not large and are pleasant tasting. I can't remember how many are in the bottle, but there are quite a few and the price was reasonable. Anne
  21. Snickers makes some really good protein bars that are located in the store where all of the diet drinks (slim fast, atkins) are. Some of them have really high protein and fiber in them. The calorie count is around 140 - 240 depending on the bar. Anne
  22. Welcome Magkei1, I really enjoyed reading your experience was with your interview, tour, and thoughts. Please post this on the sight "General Lap Band Support & Discussions". It is so reaffirming to hear from those who are in the medical field and are familiar with the practices. Anne
  23. Glad to hear that you found someone to help you. Another testament to Dr. Ortiz and how good he is. It must have felt good to hear it come from a doctors mouth in front of those other doctors, just to confirm what you had already felt in the beginning. Anne
  24. Shelby, What a great idea to post your daily intake. I have wanted someone to do this just so that I can get my head back in gear. P.O. Please ignore the previous post from me. I was experimenting with the quote feature, and then I couln't figure out how to delete it. Anne
