I find this discussion amazing. I was banded in Aug 07 and have lost 53 kg's (I have no idea how many pounds this is) I live in Cape Town, South Africa. My friend was banded the year before and has lost 72 kg's. We both eat whatever we want.
I eat any time of day or night, any food I desire, BUT in really small quantities.
I found for the 1st year that certain foods didnt go down, but now almost everything does.
I take a multi-vitamin every morning, prescribed by my surgeon, and am healthy - even though I never exercise.
I suppose Im a bad example to people eating healthy diets post op, but I had the op because diets just werent working for me, I had no self-control, and now I am thin and LOVE going out, am not afraid of 'frail' looking chairs and am comfortable at the cinema.
I did see a eating disorder psychologist for 2 years post op, and we have worked on my eating disorder together, so I hope, one day, if I empty my band (which is almost full, and has been for about a year) I will be able to continue eating small quantities regularly.
Good luck guys!
