  1. I went to the grocery store with my 13 year old daughter yesterday afternoon. I sent her off to get something. So I get a call on my cell phone from her wanting to know where I am. I tell on the bread aisle. She says she doesn't see me. I turn around and there she is. So she tells me, "I didn't know it was you, you're so skinny". Love It!!!

  2. Just wanted to say, if really don't need a fill then don't get one. I just spent two miserable weeks before I conceded and got an unfill. I too just wanted to tweak the band when I should have paid better attention to my diet and exercise. Like you my hubby was opposed to the fill and I suffered two weeks with reflux, unable to eat or drink, because I didn't want to admit he had been right. So as much as it kills me to say this, listen to your husband.

  3. I got a fill two weeks ago yesterday. Big mistake. I was just borderline on needing one and instead of buckling down and paying more attention to my food intake and exercise, I got a fill. I spent two weeks of limited food and liquid intake. Acid reflux at night. It was miserable. I had .4 put in and yesterday they took out .35. I feel so much better. My lessons learned: (1)Don't take the easy way out. put more effort into watching what you eat and exercising more. (2)If you think you are too tight (water gives you indigestion) get an unfill quickly. I have been banded for 13 months and this is the first problem I have had. I will be much more dilligent in the future.

  4. Well it's officially been one year today. I have lost 75lbs. I couldn't be happier and would do it again tomorrow. I have gone from a tight size 20 to a size 10 pants and med. top. My goal for this year is to tone up and be really healthy. I am currently at 163 lbs and would like to lose another 20-25. Good luck to everyone. I haven't posted here that much but I have been reading daily since before I had my surgery. Thanks for all the support and advice.

  5. This will be the best gift you can give yourself. I was banded in Feb. 09. I remember thinking how hard the pre and post diet was going to be. I can hardly even remember it now. I have lost 68 lbs. My back and knees don't hurt anymore. I just feel better in general and my hubby loves the new me. I still want to lose another 20-30 lbs, but what a difference already. I was banded in NE Texas and had a wonderful experience. I only took a 1/2 dose of pain medicine twice and was back to normal in a few days. Best advice. As soon as you get in the recovery room and they give you permission START WALKING! Walk walk walk. It helps with the gas pain better than anything else. Good Luck!

  6. Hi Angie. I goofed today. My system in the morning is roll out bed and make it. Stumble into the bathroom to pee and then automatically stand on the scales. Would never think of weighing before I pee cause that could add weight LOL

I have been doing this soooooooooooo long it is just a pattern.

So without thinking I did it today. Realized when my weight came up that I was not supposed to be weighing today. Ooops :(

So not a good start to this challenge. I will have to take the scales out of the bathroom and then it will be out of sight out of mind. Tomorrow is another day !

    Have a good one

Im off to save the world

    Debbie

That is exactly my morning routine. I resisted today even thought I REALLY wanted to get on the scale. Stay Strong everyone. Just 6 more days!

  7. Okay, I made it to Wed. without weighing. LOL, I just started the wait to Wed. challenge yesterday and it was hard. Anyway I am 171 this morning, this is the lowest I have been since 1996. Very happy. I would love to lose at least 5 lbs by Christmas when we go skiing. I can't imagine even trying to ski at the weight I was this time last year. My hubby calls me his 3rd wife. The first when I was very thin when we got married, second very heavy, and now on the road to thin again. He also calls me his trophy wife. LOVE IT! He's been so great this year, as I've been on the lap band journey.

    Have a great day everyone.

  8. I'll join you. I too am a "scale whore" I weigh twice a day. I went to the lapband dr. yesterday (I was banded in NE Texas) and have lost a total of 68 lbs since being banded Feb. 4. I actually lost 2 lbs over Thanksgiving. I can't imagine life without the band. So here's to only weighing in on Wed. Good luck on the discipline. I may have to have hubby hide my scale (lol).

  9. Frisco is on the north side of the Dallas area. It has a great mall and lots of great shopping and not far from the Galleria. Sam Moon is an import store. They sell purses, jewelry, luggage, and it's all really cheap. We go because of all the rhinestone jewelry. It carries alot of stuff you see in other boutique stores. I know alot of places that go to Sam Moon and buy stuff to re-sell. My youngest daughter is a dancer and we are in the Dallas area at least once a year for dance and we plan our trip around going to Sam Moon. You will love it. www.sammoon.com

  10. Hi, this is my first time to post here but I have been lurking and reading since Jan. 09. I had my surgery here in states in Feb. and would do it again tomorrow. I am in SE oklahoma about 2 1/2 hours from Dallas. You could have your meeting in the Frisco area. It's great, and a trip to Sam Moon would be a fun. Where are you from?
