Hi all..Im new here.. I had my mind set on gastric bypass, and just recently decided to go with the lap band. Here is my issue..my BMI is 52. Here, they used to have a cap of a BMI no greater than 50 but apparently that has been lifted. I am interested in seeing if anyone else had/has a BMI of 50 or greater and has/is (getting) lapband. I dont want to go the gastric route anymore..and even with my BMI so high, both my PCP and myself feel like a loss of 100-120 lbs would be completely acceptable. I am male that has a large frame, and muscle mass in my *non-fat* places. Anyone else in this boat? Thanks
