Hi! I'm 26 years old and I am a full-time nursing student. I just started August 2009, and I am pursuing my Master's degree so I have a long road ahead of me!

As of December 26, 2009 I am at my heaviest weight... 248 pounds!!! I am only 5'2" and my BMI is 45!

I feel like my weight has always held me back, and has always identified me. In my group of friends, we have the "mommy," the "crazy" one, and I'm the "big" one.

My mother had the traditional roux ny gastric surgery in 2004, and I was totally against it. Then, out of desperation, I tried to get approved for the surgery. I was 21 years old, 220 pounds, and the insurance company refused me because I hadn't been obese for 5 years. I was determined to lose it on my own. Five years and hundreds of diets later, I am 30 pounds heavier and once again, desperate.

I don't want my weight to define me anymore, so I am hiding my intentions from my family and friends. Except my daddy. If I ever get the money for the surgery, he will be the one to travel with me to Mexico and he will be the one to help me along this new journey.
