Hello, I had a lap band put in 7 years ago, I had it put in, in Nevada and moved back to Ca 5 years ago and my new primary Dr. and Insurance you have to get a refferal to see a gastric Dr., and I tried for 2 years to get one and my primary Dr. kept saying that It didnt sound like I really needed to see a Dr. for the band. Untill one day I knew there was somthing wrong and that so many years had went by with out it not being checked out, I entered the hospital and it was immediatley taken out, for no other reason then it haddent been looked at. and now I miss it and want it back. Does anyone out there know how long I would have to wait to have another put back in?

What was wrong with your band ? Something must have gone wrong with it , if it was removed 7 yrs later ? OMG i thought it would be 4sure thing if I haven't had any issue thus far ? ID die !

First I like to say I Love my Band. I have been banded for almost a year but I still have ?'s.

I have 4cc in my band that really didn't change my feeling of restriction. From the beginning , it was hit or miss, meaning sometimes i have restriction and sometimes i don't and sometimes I have a hard time drinking water. I got a fill because I was told that i should get a fill . It really didn't change a thing. I was hoping it would stabilize my fluctuating state but it never did. I have spoken to Dr. So when I was first banded and I had a hard month of not being able to eat anything but then i stabilized somewhat. I have tried to follow the Doctors instruction to the T, and I think I have done well. The reason for this outcall is.... Has anyone else had similar situation? I have learned when I can eat and when I can't eat and I go with it, but their where times that i couldn't keep anything down and the washroom is where i lived. My restriction varies day to day, usually the week before my period I can NOt eat a thing or barely drink . The rest of the time it's day to day. I don't understand the need to get a fill and I don't understand why my restriction fluctuates.

I also had a MAJOR issue with my hair following out, I started taking a Liquid multi with a liquid iron and liquid silica with b12/6 pills ( when I can swallow) That seemed to cure my hair loss.2 weeks ago I notice my hair following out again and trust me I can't afford anymore more hair loss. I rather be FAT with Hair than Thin without Hair ! Anyhow here are a few things that make me say , "Hmm".

I have 4cc in now, but he always ask how i want. I would love to know what the norm is for a 2nd fill. please let me know asap, Iam going in on Saturday.

I have tried to change a few things but nothing. I will lose 3 -5 lbs and WHAM it come back ! my body is pissing me off ! 3 months of summer and I have lost nothing, ok not nothing 5lbs but i should have lost at least 25lbs ! Arrrg !

Enchanted piano , why the sleeve do you have the band ?

I have kept to a great meal routine and was losing weight . For the last 3 months NOTHING , now what ? I' am thinking I should go on a 2 week liquid diet . Help ?

I alway from the beginning had restriction. I was told to have a fillbetween 6 - 8 weeks later , so eventually did. I finally recieved 4cc in a 11cc band. I have the a bit more restriction which actually is very annoying because sometimes its hard to eat anything. I really do not need anymore fills so far or did I need the 1st. I believe some people have had 0 fills because of their restriction from the beginning. I guess its luck or maybe it on those people that need to loose more weight. I does make me wonder though way the initial restriction for some.If anyone knows way please let me know. Sp for anyone that has just gotten the Band done and you feel restriction, no fill is necessary until u have no restriction. Ok I will stop Babbling now. Ii hope this helps some

We went swimming in a COOL lake not COLD but a bit COOL. After that I cold not even swallow water for a couple of hours . Whats with that ?

I was just wondering if anyone else has Yo-Yo- restriction. Sometimes I have Great restriction, and sometimes, NADA . Hmm wondering whats going on. Answers anyone ?

I got banded in feb. and since then I was lucky if i could get 1/2- 1 cup a cup down.Remember this is without a fill. Then I got a fill and I really did not experience any difference. Then on Wednesday , I was able to eat MEAT -chicken I haven't been able to do that in months ! The only meat I could eat was sandwich meat.Then on Thursday I kinda felt a little restriction and then this morning I HAD restriction and this evening, ) , NONE. WHATS HAPPENING ? Any takers. I did phone the OCC and all they really said is that they needed to see me to the me anything.I will try to go in july.

I' am a little worried today because that past few weeks I have been having Problems.. Today, is weird everything seems to be going dowm smoothly .

I have been having a hard time eating anything for the last few weeks. Today I discovered if I eat standing up I can eat my little portion without PBing . Hmm..

I am 34 yrs old . I also weighed 316 ibs when I decided I had to do something drastic . I am a mother and I need to be able to keep up with my kids , and i also had 0 energy and my body hurt and I thought to myself , if I hurt now what the hell is going to happen to me when i get older.... GET THE HELP, YOU DESERVE IT ! P.s. I am down 55ibs since feb 9 2010

I am 99% sure I'm going to need this surgery too. My port has always moved around and has always felt like it was rubbing on my ribs, and I've never been able to sleep on my left side and now it is suddenly sticking out like an alien inside me and hurts ALL THE TIME. I called OCC and it's only a 15 minute procedure but it will cost me about $1000 for flights, surgery and transportation so I'm holding out thinking the port revision could be done for free when I get a tummy-tuck, something I ALMOST have enough money to do in the next few months. I am trying to hang in there but it's really bugging me so I may have to get it taken care of before tummy tuck which sucks `cause I'll have to use tummy-tuck savings and then I'll need to save that $1000 again and who knows how long that will take. Let me know what you decide.

Hey hon , I just I would let you know that tummy tuck is covered by bc med. I had it done 4-5 yrs back. Just go to your Dr. and so him a irratated skin under your tummy skin. Hope this helps.

I haven't had a fill and that happens to me all the time.

I haven't had a fill yet but I've been banded in feb. I cannot eat any type of meat unless it can melt in my mouth! Lunch meat I can handle. Breads, pasta, really anything dry I have a hard time eating it . And at this point, I second guess anything in put in my mouth because if I know I shouldn't be eating it and have a chance of it getting stuck and going through that pain ,, hmm.. not worth it ! I am very care full in avoiding foods that will hurt me, even uncooked veggies,I can't do. I love the band but sometimes I get SO fustrated because I can't really eat much of anything, Small bites or anything! Now, I wonder if I should even attempt a fill .

Try not to focus on your intake of food 24/7 it gets exhausting !! Try not to get bored and keep busy. It's always in the back of my mind . All i can say is keep busy and when u think your hungry , grab an apple ! lol !

Today I went for a fill again , after he has taken x-rays to place were the port is. So, today was going to be my 1st fill ( almost 2 months late).I was SO SO excited ! guess what ... he couldn't find the port ! ARG !! WHAT ! He said it has moved . So , now I am going to wait until I go to Vancouver and go see Dr . Manchanda, Thanks to sabrina , forwarding his info . WHY , OH , WHY ? I can feel the port , so i really do not understand . O.K. I will stop venting ... Oh, I just want a FILL..........

I am down 3 lbs ! It's weird ,I stay steady for about 3 weeks and then all of a sudden I lose weight easily for a week then I hold on to that weight for 3 weeks ? things that make you say Hmmmmmmmmmm

ok i tried to responed earlier but i guess it did not work.

Last week I went for a xray so my doctor could see where my port is. all is great port in the right spot facing the right way. So, today i went back for a proper fill and as we where talking I asked if the needle he used was a huber needle, and he said that he uses a normal syringe . So, I chose not to go threw with it because i am pretty sure you need a special huber syringe. I called the OCC and they did tell me a huver syringe is best becuse theres less chance of damage to the port . OMG, Dr.So said he would email me some info for my doctor but I have not received anything so I'll call again tommorow. My doctor does fills for the "slim band" but i guess their different styles.So, at this point I don't know even if i had a tiny fill of 2cc from last time or I have ) nada ! I have 0 restriction just problem with meat. But anyhow my Dr is willing to help and figure things out, so thats GREAT, but in the meanwhile I have NO fill and a little upset that I have gone all this way and the little fill I need is not available , for now . I am considering going down to Spokane so if anyone knows of a proper Dr. that does no what they r doing please, please let me know !
