Hi, If you contact Alice Baal at abaal@telus.net she'll be able to help you. She's had the lapband with Dr. Ortiz and is also a bookkeeper with oodles of experience claiming lapbands on income tax. I'll email her and let her know that you might be contacting her. Hope this helps!

I just got back from a trip, and was so excited that my hips no longer touch the arms on a plane!!! and the best part was that I had at least 6 inches of extra seatbelt!!! Victory is SWEET!!!

Just spoke to Dr So at the OCC and we determined that I still am not in need of my first fill. I think I was going to use it as an excuse to not make myself behave. Glad I talked to him.

Okay all you bandsters out there!!! I arrive in Mexico on Wednesday and scheduled for band on Thursday. I'm excited and nervous all at the same time. What can you tell me about the first few days and first month post-op. Will I be hungry? Light-headed? Did you all lost weight initially? I have about 80-90 lbs to love.

I had my surgery last Tuesday. Everyone is different but for me I was definitely light-headed for several days after the op. I guess I'm at day 6 post op and no longer light-headed but kinda 'under the weather'. I'm struggling with the gas build up in the back and belly and I think that is what is making me feel out of sorts. Once that goes, I'm sure I'll feel 100% better. I think I'm hungry when I smell food...but when I ask ...
