thanks everyone for the information. I am currently a stay at home mom due to a job layoff and I stay home with our two and four year old. My surgery is on Monday. I plan on staying in Mexico until Wednesday, but just want to make sure I have what I need when I get home. I've been eating all my last meals this week, so I'm sure I'll have a good weight lose next week.
Keep you all posted!

okay, thanks again. We shop today, since I'm leaving on Sunday!

I'm just checking to see if anyone else is having surgery on Monday. I'm super excited!

I'll be there for surgery on April 12th. I'm just coming in from San Diego. Excited!

Janelle,
So you have already lost 22 pounds in less then a month? Did you lose some of that weight before surgery? That is awesome!

One more question. How hard is the liquid diet for the three weeks after? What kind of diet did you have to do before the surgery?

You ladies are funny....Dr Martinez looks pretty hot too. Not usually into the latino men, but they both look good!

Janelle,
Have you gotten your first fill yet? I've heard great things about the OCC and quite honestly the doctors look very cute. I had a friend who
was banded by them about four years ago.
What do you think of your band so far? Looks like you've dropped over 20 pounds already. Good for you girl!

Hi Everyone,
I pretty sure I am going to get a lap band from the OCC. Is everyone pretty happy with their experience? I live in San Diego, so it will be easy for
me to get to the OCC office. I've seen only positive experiences on this board so far. Does anyone else have anything else to say. I appreciate anything you could tell me.
Thanks!

Thanks everyone for the information. I probably would just go back to the OCC for my fills. I have a BMI of 30 and would love to lose 50 to 60 pounds.
I am 41, 5'8 and 205. I have a friend who was banded by Dr Ortiz about four years ago. She was very happy with him. So far are you all happy you did this and happy with the OCC? You can't beat the price. I am a little scared of going into Mexico to have this done, but I haven't seen anyone say they had a bad experience. My mother HATES Mexico and would have a fit if she knew I went down there to do this. She sends me newspaper clippings on the violence in Mexico all the time, since my husband goes down there to surf.
My husband is a firefighter in the South Bay about 12 miles from the boarder. I was thinking I could meet him when he gets off work at 7:30am and have him go with me for fills. Do you feel safe going to the office by yourself?
Also, I have two kids under 3 1/2. How much recovery time would I need?
Thanks!

Hi Ashley,
What part of SD do you live in? You look amazing. I had a friend who was banded by Dr Ortiz about four years ago. I was going to use a surgeon in SD.
I am just kind of on the fence about Mexico in case I have any problems. Did you have any complications aferward? I have two kids under four and it
would be hard from me to go back and forth to TJ if I had a problem. What kind of hours does the OCC keep?
Thanks!

Hello,
My name is Heidi and I'm thinking of getting a lap band by Dr Ortiz. I am wondering if anyone is getting fills by another doctor in San Diego or
Orange County? I don't know if I want to keep going over the boarder to get this done.
Thanks!

Hi there,
I am considering surgery and am looking for a referral to a doctor in either San Diego
or Orange County. I would appreciate it!
Thanks,

One week banded and I have a question
in Gastric Band Support & Discussion

Hi All,
I was banded last Monday. I still find myself getting very hungry, especially in the middle of the night. When I do eat I feel full. My question is I really don't feel much restriction. Do you really start feeling the restriction once you have your first fill? I know the first weeks is for the band to really heal.
Thanks,
Heidi
