I am a married 36 year old and have battled with my weight all my life. I have done all sorts of diets only to have lost and then gained the weight back and then some. I have had hypertension since I was 21 and 3 years ago started taking medication(pill form) for diabetes. My reason for the lap band surgery is strickly for medical purposes. I don't want to end up on insulin, along with any long term affects that diabetes has on our bodies. In January of this year I decided that enough was enough and it was time to make a change for the better. When I found out that my health insurance would NOT cover the surgery, I decided to look elsewhere. My brother-in-law had the surgery done at OCC back in 07 and has had success!! So here I am scheduled for surgery on April 15th. I can't wait to be a healthier person and look forward to the day I don't take any medications other than vitamins

PS...I am also hoping that by losing this weight that in time we will beable to conceive a child before I'm 40 =)

UPDATE 6/7/10~ I went for my first fill back to OCC on June 3, 2010. Dr. So put 5cc's in. So far I am happy with my progress and my total weight loss since surgery is 17 lbs but a total of 32 lbs since March 1, 2010.
