  1. I started using Mederma about 3 weeks after surgery. I'm approximately 2 1/2 months since my surgery. The scars aren't bad but they are definitely still pink.
  2. That made me laugh out loud! I felt the same way but didn't express it quite so eloquently!
  3. Angie, Thanks so much for the info! I will do exactly as you say, and try going to mushy for a few days until i get a handle on this. It is definitely a learning experience! I never expected to experience this much restriction without a fill. Hopefully it's a good thing and i will adapt quickly. this experience is a little scary. i keep worrying about the band.
  4. wow, thank you all - i thought there was something wrong. I started solids on Monday and hardly anything goes down. I have vomited up either everything or part of all i have eaten. i try to chew a lot but i am re-learning to eat. i stayed true to liquids for the full 3 weeks but now i am so scared my band has slipped or something weird because i can hardly eat. I can't imagine what a fill will be like if i already have such issues. please let me know more of your experiences!
  5. All, I just started solid food on Monday. It has been terrible! everything i eat comes straight back up, i either feel like nothing will go down or i immediately vomit! sometimes, food will go down (just a tiny bit) and liquids are fine, but anything like meat just blocks snd ejects. Am I doing something wrong?? I followed the post op diet perfectly! Did not cheat or anything. i am so worried my band will slip if this keeps up! has anyone else experienced this??
  6. Yes, it really was such an awesome experience. I'm one week out as of today and already down 9 lbs from my OCC weight. I'm so excited!
  7. Thanks so much for all of the support!! I am home now, it's been 4 days and i feel great! Not hungry at all, so no issues sticking to the clear liquids at all. I wish now i had done this years ago!!
  8. thank you! I'm so relived! all over and i feel great!!!

  9. i'll start by saying i don't know much - but could it be you are eating too much right after the fill and stretching out? If that can happen, i worry and will try to avoid it.
  10. GOOD LUCK TO YOU TOO! yOU WILL DO AWESOME, I KNOW IT!
  11. awesome experience! i don't even know what to say. the OCC is the best. No pain, no issues. I feel great!
  12. wOW, What a great group of folks at the OCC. banded yesterday, i am feeling perfect! stayed the night there, but back in the hotel today and going home tomorrow. i have never felt so WELL and so HOPEFUL!!! Good luck to all of you doing the same!!
  13. heading to OCC this morning for the first step in my NEW life!

  14. Thank you so much!! I am heading downstairs now to catch the shuttle. Yikes!! :)

  15. Wow, you look fantastic!! Contratulations on all that weight lost! I hope, i hope, i hope i can be committed enough. Like you, i am afraid of messing something up or causing complications so i plan to follow orders this time! AND I have 5 friends who are going to help me and apply intervention if i need it. One of them even offered to have me live with her so I CANT sneak. haha. Hopefully it wont come to that but it sure is great to have friends to support us, isn't it? I suspect this forum will be incredibly encouraging as well.
  16. Angie, Thanks so much for your reply! I have been much better this weekend; i take off tomorrow for San Diego and I'm nervous and excited at the same time. It looks like you are going really well! You've lost a lot of weight! Congratulations! I'm glad to hear i'm not the only one that can't get their head right. But I had all my friends promise an intervention if they see me start to fail. Thank God for good friends!
  17. Hi, That's so encouraging that you are doing so well. I had my lap band done this morning and I am back at the Hotel Lucerna. I like hearing from someone who is getting through it without all that other icky stuff going on! I feel like today is the first day of the rest of my life! I'm determined and driven to be a much healthy, fit and fun person! Thanks for sharing! Hi, I'm supposed to have my lapband on Tuesday. I unfortunately blew it on the pre-op diet, so i'm not sure if i will end up getting it done or not, but it's good to hear that you are feeling well after having it done! How long were you 'out' for with anasthesia? Did you struggle with the pre-op diet?
  18. Thanks, you're right. I'm thinking i better not move forward until i get my act together.
  19. i'm a jerk. I did not follow the pre-op diet hardly at all. I know i didn't lose anything. I am thinking of cancelling my surgery next week. I simply don't have discipline, and i'm afraid i won't after i get banded either. I feel like i'm a lost case. Any advice? Did any of you guys experience this? I travel a lot, and am a senior executive in my company. Lots of wining/dining/socializing. Is this the right decision for me? I feel totally at a loss.
  20. Surgery April 27! I'm excited and scared at the same time.
