Yes it is true. The band needs to heal into place and if you eat solid foods it can cause it to slip. I am on day 17 of liquid post op

Also could anybody suggest soemthing liquid that is filling that isnt on the list but would be ok.

Day 17 post op and really struggling. How many people actually made the full 21 days of liquids without cheating??

I am scheduled for my first fill on August 30th.

I thought it was 21 days of liquid afterwards??

It seems like i have hit a plateau and i am only 2 weeks into post op diet. I am happy at the 28 lbs i have lost don't get me wrong it just seems strange

How long should I wait after surgey?

i know this is on here somewhere but what did people use for the scars and how long after surgery did they start using it. Thanks Dwayne

Starting day 7 of pre op diet and i am down 12 pounds. wow. Leave for occ on Sunday and getting banded on Monday

I am getting banded June 28 th. For me it was many reasons. I am 6 ft 330 lbs. My doctors were really concerned about my long term health with the weight i was carrying. I hurt all the time. i couldn't shop at normal stores as i needed a size 46 pants and 3 xl shirts. i couldnt play with my daughter of walk up the stairs in our house with out being out of breathe. My love life with my wife is non exisint and honestly i am tired of low self esteem because i am so over weight. I am a week away and cannot wait. Good Luck in your journey

Started Pre op diet today. 12 more days till i get my band. traveled all day for work and didnt get supper till 8 oclock and let me tell you a lean cuisine and salad never tasted so good lol

19 more days till i get banded. Woohoo. Am so looking forward to starting my journey. Nervousness is over and now i am super excited. Looking forward to not waking up everyday sore because i am over weight

i am 336 lbs and 33 years old and i am getting banded on june 28th. I cant imigane at this weight how i would feel in my 40's and 50's. I am nervous and have second thoughts all the time but every night i dont sleep good or every morning i wake up sore it just reassures me i am making the right decision

I am not worried about an infection at the OCC. After the lap band is put in i have been told that when i go to the Dentist i might need to take medication before hand as there is bacteria that can get in your blood stream and cause your body to want to reject the lap band as a foreign object.

My wife was at the dentist today and overheard a lady talking to the receptionist. She had an artificial hip or knee or something and had to take a weeks worth of medication before going to the dentist. Aparently they said that anything put into your body like that if you don't take the medication there is some bacteria or something that can make your body try and reject what was implanted or put in your body. My wife was concerned about this as i am getting banded on June 28th. Has anybody heard about this or know anything about it??

Did anybody use Protein Bars Pre op instead of Protein Shakes??

Well thats strange. I was told by somebody from airdrie that they got 1200 dollars back from AHC and claimed the rest on her taxes. Did you send in a claim to AHC??

If anybody from Alberta has been banded at OCC and been reimbursed by AHC do you bring the form with you or do you fill it out when you get back???

How is it decided when you get your first fill?? I know its supposed to be in the 6 - 8 week period but do you plan a date right away or do you wait and see how you feel??
