  1. I decided today not to weigh myself for two months. I had my surgery on May 10th, but the scale isn't showing me anything positive. I feel like the scale is my enemy and I will not let it stop me. In order to keep focus, I decided to use my clothing as a guide. Last week I lost 9lbs according to the scale. This week I have gained eleven pounds. I have exercised more this week than last week, and my liquid diet hasn't changed much. Therefore, I should have lost weight or at least maintained my weight. I am not going to allow the enemy to win (the scale). I am mentally prepared for this diet and will continue my exercise routine. Each week I plan on increasing my walk and time on the treadmill, until my 90 days are up. At this point, the aerobic classes and personal trainer will become my best friend, next to my husband. The war is on and I will prevail...over that @#$% scale! P.S. These forums are such an inspiration and the best support. Reading other people's struggles and rewards helps me tremendously.
  2. Revy thanks for your response. You are my hero and I would like to be like you! I had the by-pass surgery in 2000, and after 5/6 years I have gained 60 lbs. The lapband is my second and last chance at this weight loss thing. I must mention, I never hit goal when I had the bypass surgery. I started at 336 and lost down to maybe 210 (for about a day) This time I am married and my husband supports me whole heartly. He's dieting and walking with me (of course he is losing weight more quickly...men got it like that). I am going to keep at it. My goal is 175...at that point I am running to the plastic surgeon to get my arms done first, then the tummy tuck. I will not allow that scale to scare me off. I was using the gym scale to weigh in Friday's, now I will use my mirror and clothing as my weight guide. P.s. - People always said keep a food diary...who has time. I am almost 50, go to school part-time, work full time. My 7 day week only feels like 3 days...so doing a food diary is not an option. Thanks again for you support and YOU LOOK FANTASTIC!

  4. I had the gastric bypass in 2000 and never reached my goal. Unfortunately, I gained 60 lbs back and now have the band. The most interesting thing is, the day I received my lapband another individual received the lapband over the gastri bypass too. This is my second time around and I am finding it hard. The gastric bypass you really lose weight fast and there is no hunger. The downside is that you begin gaining weight back 4-5 years post op (but you don't see that listed anywhere. The lapband on the other hand, you have to train your mind and body. I am almost three weeks post op and have lost inches, because I walk 1.5 miles a day and go to the gym. The scale hasn't been good for me. I plan on waiting until after my first fill to weigh myself again. Bottom line it's about choices and no one can make it for you. You have to be mentally prepared for any diet program. The main thing you need to do is ask yourself are you ready to commit yourself to this diet. Good luck in your decision....also make sure you have the proper support group in place. The first time I was single, now I am married and my husband suppports me 100%. I did liquid and he did liquid too!
  5. I finally lost 9 lbs. I started excercising....walking approximately 2 miles a day. I will increase the walk, once I start eating again. I am only doing the treadmill at the gym for now. I can't wait to begin aerobics and start back with my personal trainer (it's been a year since I seen him)
  6. I emailed OCC. They said it's $199 for the transportation and fill. The transportation includes one companion, so it would be $199 for both you and your wife. The price for a hotel room plus fill is $279 (again this includes your spouse)...I hope this helps. I think the transportation is a good deal. My husband and I first thought about renting a car, but you still have to take a cab, pay for parking etc...plus the hassle of walking over the boarder twice!
  7. Thanks for the response. I am also trying to figure out...why I haven't lost any weight. Is it because of the fluid intake? I know the exercise will help me. Hopefully next week I will see a difference. My fill is scheduled for July at the OCC, which I look forward too. My husband and I were really impressed with OCC. The only downside was coming back across the boarder. We almost missed the plane.
  8. I was banded on May 10th over a gastric by pass that was done in 2000. I have been starving and haven't felt no restriction, whatsoever. I have been sore, so I haven't worked out. I finally went to the gym last night and weighed myself and haven't lost a pound. I started the tread mill last night and walked 2 miles today (5/20). I feel better and don't feel as hungry. I don't understand why I feel so hungry when my pouch is small. My stoma had opened, so I gained a lot weight. I know the exercise will help kick start the weight loss (prayerfully)...what can I do to contain the hunger? Any suggestions,
