  1. I too have gotten pregnant after being banded. I had lost almost 40 pounds since banding without getting a fill. I was just looking into fill options when I found out I was pregnant. I am now 23 weeks pregnant and have gained back almost the whole 40 pounds! My husband absolutely will not let me even look into getting a fill while pregnant, he tells me there will be plenty of time after the little one comes. This is our third and this is so far the most weight I have gained, I am on track to gain 60 pounds at the rate I am going. I don't feel like I even eat all that much, I just think that after eating so little for a while my body just sucks it all up and stores it for a rainy day! I hate that I am back to square one, or even worse. But I guess I have the rest of my life to lose weight, right?
  2. Well I just got an email from the OCC stating that the band should be completely unfilled for a pregnancy. I'll see what FillCenterUSA has to say. My OB wasn't against it.
  3. I am just about 2 months and a bit. 8 weeks down 32 to go. I hope I can find a doctor to do a fill for me too. Thanks for the advice!
  4. Are they still doing fills at OCC? I was looking at their website and just saw a link to FillCenterUSA.
  5. So I have lost about 25 pounds post banding without having a fill done. I now find myself pregnant. Totally unexpected, complete surprise, but exciting all the same! I find I am eating WAY more than I should be, I mean 3 or 4 pieces of pizza at a time! Not good. My question is can I get a fill while pregnant? I am still considered overweight so should only gain maybe 10-15 pounds for the whole pregnancy but really feel out of control on my eating. Thanks for any advice.
  6. Oh what a horrible experience that was! I have gotten too lax with chewing and eating too fast. Have had that feeling of food being stuck but this was the first time it came back up. NOT FUN It was way worse than vomiting, so painful. It was like my esophagus was vomiting. I need to chew chew chew and hope that never happens again!
  7. Good luck and congratulations! Cant wait for you to post baby pics!
  8. Gosh 7 hrs seems like an awefully long time. But I have yet to do a fill so I am not sure of the time needed to cross the boarder. I know when I booked my flight home after the surgery they said to give it at least 3 hrs.
  9. I missed out on getting my first fill in Sept. so I will be at OCC in Oct for fill #1! I cant wait! Good luck to all you getting your bands, you wont be disappointed! The first 21 days can be tuff but you all can do it!
  10. Sooo, I gained 5lbs on vacation! Wish I could have gotten my fill done while I was in San Diego. But I will just have to buckle down and get myself back into eating slower and less.
  11. My BMI at time of banding was right at 30 and I have had great success. Two months out and I have lost about 20 lbs.
  12. I dont think the port is behind the belly button, they put it in through the belly button.
  13. I am definately way too chicken to try boarder crossing without my passport! I am only about an hour or so by plane fron SD and SouthWest has a $49 special going on right now. I will just come back on down in a couple weeks! Thanks for all the advice though
  14. So I am down in San Diego for a family vacation and thought I would just skip across the boarder for my first fill. Sounds like a great idea right? My appointment is tomorrow @ 10am and.... I just realized my passport is sitting on the table at home!!! I am such an idiot! You do need it for boarder crossing now right? could I just do it with my Drivers License? I was really looking forward to my first fill and was really excited, but oh well, live and learn. I will just have to fly down for the day at some point in the next month or so! Erin
  15. Hey you, Erin here. How are things going? I for one am LOVING my band! I am going on 20lbs lost and looking forward to the next 20. Is your fill tomorrow? I am going next week, we will be in San Diego for a vacation so I hope to just hop on over for a fill. Hope things are going good for you, talk to you later, Erin
  16. I am afraid I will end up having to do this port relocation surgery sooner or later my self. I am only about 5 weeks out from having my band placed but the port is so uncomfortable at times and always noticable.
  17. I did get approved for a medical loan through one of those companies. But the dang interest was over 20%. I have pretty good credit and could not stomach the interest rate so I told them they could keep thier money thank you very much. That next week I actually got an offer from one of my credit cards for 0% for 12 months with a 2% fee, so I jumped on that. I hate having a balance on my cards but figure I will go ahead and take the year to pay it off since I already paid the fee. Call your credit card companies and see what they can do for you.
  18. Momof4- Great job! I am doing well on solids but cant wait for my first fill! Once I started eating again I started to see a bit of a weight drop again, maybe my body was in what they call "starvation mode" and just needed the extra fuel. But I am down to about 155-158! Which for me is just amazing. I feel so good also, lots of energy and no bloating or constipation like I had when I ate too much carbs before surgery! I am so happy to have had this done, totally the right decision.
  19. Well we ended up not going out. We stayed home and hubby make pasta and meatballs for the kids. I had two meatballs and a small salad and was very happily full and content! The thing I have been craving the most is meat, so the meatballs worked out good for me.
  20. So I am officially off of my 21 day liquid post op diet! I have been waiting for this day for, well, for 21 days. The kicker is that I was so dang busy at work today that I did not get a lunch break so no food! I am having a little snack of grilled chicken breast strips right now though. We were going to go out for steaks (little ones) tonight to celebrate but I am so tired after the busy day I had. The awesome news is that I am down to 167 lbs today! Pre surgery weight was 170. So I am pretty stoked right now! Congrats to me!
  21. Hello and congrats on your surgery! Friday seems really soon to be starting on soup already. I had 7 days of clear liquids, juices and broth mostly. Then on day 8 and 9 I could have drinkable yogurt, not regular yogurt! And on day 10 was able to add the cream soups and protein drinks. Be really careful to follow Dr. Miranda's diet. The first couple of days are the hardest but it gets easier and you start to see the pounds dropping off. Good luck
  22. Hi, so happy things went well for you. I knew they would. Kinda cool that belly button thing. I am doing good, down about 10lbs! Cant wait to follow your journey.
  23. I am sooo excited for you! After the diet they have you on now the 21 days post op liquid diet will be a breeze for you! Good luck and cant wait to hear more from you.
  24. Hey girl! Dont worry, I had this same feeling for days, not painful just annoying. It does go away. I have only had one or two days of bad burping and one day of amazingly painful gas but today am feeling wonderful. I started on soup today and feel so full I cant imagine going onto regular foods! Oh and by the way I finally saw a drop in the scale today- 8 pounds!
