  1. I too have gotten pregnant after being banded.

I had lost almost 40 pounds since banding without getting a fill. I was just looking into fill options when I found out I was pregnant.

I am now 23 weeks pregnant and have gained back almost the whole 40 pounds!

My husband absolutely will not let me even look into getting a fill while pregnant, he tells me there will be plenty of time after the little one comes.

This is our third and this is so far the most weight I have gained, I am on track to gain 60 pounds at the rate I am going.

I don't feel like I even eat all that much, I just think that after eating so little for a while my body just sucks it all up and stores it for a rainy day!

I hate that I am back to square one, or even worse.

But I guess I have the rest of my life to lose weight, right?

  2. So I have lost about 25 pounds post banding without having a fill done.

I now find myself pregnant. Totally unexpected, complete surprise, but exciting all the same!

I find I am eating WAY more than I should be, I mean 3 or 4 pieces of pizza at a time! Not good.

My question is can I get a fill while pregnant?

I am still considered overweight so should only gain maybe 10-15 pounds for the whole pregnancy but really feel out of control on my eating.

    Thanks for any advice.

  3. So I am down in San Diego for a family vacation and thought I would just skip across the boarder for my first fill.

Sounds like a great idea right?

My appointment is tomorrow @ 10am and....

I just realized my passport is sitting on the table at home!!!

    I am such an idiot!

You do need it for boarder crossing now right? could I just do it with my Drivers License?

I was really looking forward to my first fill and was really excited, but oh well, live and learn.

I will just have to fly down for the day at some point in the next month or so!

  4. I did get approved for a medical loan through one of those companies. But the dang interest was over 20%. I have pretty good credit and could not stomach the interest rate so I told them they could keep thier money thank you very much.

That next week I actually got an offer from one of my credit cards for 0% for 12 months with a 2% fee, so I jumped on that. I hate having a balance on my cards but figure I will go ahead and take the year to pay it off since I already paid the fee.

Call your credit card companies and see what they can do for you.

  5. Momof4- Great job!

I am doing well on solids but cant wait for my first fill!

Once I started eating again I started to see a bit of a weight drop again, maybe my body was in what they call "starvation mode" and just needed the extra fuel.

But I am down to about 155-158! Which for me is just amazing. I feel so good also, lots of energy and no bloating or constipation like I had when I ate too much carbs before surgery!

I am so happy to have had this done, totally the right decision.

  6. So I am officially off of my 21 day liquid post op diet!

I have been waiting for this day for, well, for 21 days.

The kicker is that I was so dang busy at work today that I did not get a lunch break so no food!

I am having a little snack of grilled chicken breast strips right now though.

We were going to go out for steaks (little ones) tonight to celebrate but I am so tired after the busy day I had.

The awesome news is that I am down to 167 lbs today! Pre surgery weight was 170. So I am pretty stoked right now!

    Congrats to me!

  7. Hello and congrats on your surgery! :D

Friday seems really soon to be starting on soup already.

I had 7 days of clear liquids, juices and broth mostly.

Then on day 8 and 9 I could have drinkable yogurt, not regular yogurt!

And on day 10 was able to add the cream soups and protein drinks.

Be really careful to follow Dr. Miranda's diet.

The first couple of days are the hardest but it gets easier and you start to see the pounds dropping off.

    Good luck

  8. Hey girl!

Dont worry, I had this same feeling for days, not painful just annoying. It does go away.

I have only had one or two days of bad burping and one day of amazingly painful gas but today am feeling wonderful.

I started on soup today and feel so full I cant imagine going onto regular foods!

Oh and by the way I finally saw a drop in the scale today- 8 pounds!
