You Go Girl!!! > I don't think I have ever posted here and if I have not enough to remember. I just want to give you a major SHOUT OUT! I was in kind of the same situation with no support group but here I am 2 yrs later in the best health of my life mentally and physically. I actually think I could be a spokes person for the lap band because it has changed my life so much; shoot about 3 people have went through the surgery since I have talked to them. I either did learned a great deal from my public speech class or I drilled it into their heads because when I start talking about it I can't shut up but either way they are pleased with their decision. All of my life I have never had a support system or just somebody to push me to do more with my life. When I had the surgery I had I was on my way alone. I do believe my mom felt guilty so she went with me, although she was still negative but I stood strong like you did. It took getting the lap band surgery for me gain the only support system I have ever needed MYSELF! Some people may look at that statement as being way too dependent on the band but you know it has given me another chance to enjoy life the way it should be. Even with a few minor complications (which I knew how to handle) it is with a shadow of a doubt the best thing I have ever done for myself. It took me 26-27 years of my life to look in the mirror and say you are beautiful and I love you! I don't normally have time to post on this forum because I am always busy with my job or school work. However I am making a vow that I will from now on make time to support my band family and give any encouragement that I can. It is a wonderful feeling talking and helping people learn about the lap band especially those who are still in that tunnel. Thank you so much for putting your post out for me to read, you may just have helped me get to starting a blog "I'm on a MISSION" and I cant think of a better group to help me along my road. Hi nita57, Would you want to go any sooner? The more I have thought about it I believe I want to go before school starts. It would be great to go with you on the bus/trolley, that would be really cheap sounds like a great way to go! Ha Ha I thought of going back the same day too! Let me know! Kristi

Im not sure if anybody will read this before I leave for Mexico 11/23, but I will post it anyway. I am having a problem with my pre-op weight, I have done what I am suppose to and some. I have only drop maybe 5lbs, I am scared my surgery will get postponed. I think my meds just havent help with me trying to lose weight. I am freaking out because I want know until I get there. Any words from anybody? Thanks KC
