  1. Hello All, I realize I really haven't even done an intro. I have been lurking, though! (For years!) I am Michelle. I am a 40 year old Mother of 3 (I have a 9 yr old, a 5 yr old, and a 4 yr old). I am 5'7. I live in Washington State. I was banded by Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Martinez in TJ WAY back in September of 2003! I started at 372 and today I weigh anywhere between 178 and 180..it just seems to stay there and I can't seem to get any lower..but..I don't seem to go back up again either!!! (THANK GOODNESS). As you can see..it took me a while to get to goal..well...I don't know if I'm at goal..I'm supposed to weigh 155 but my body has been maintaining this weight for a year. Anyway, I took the first 150 lbs off..then got pregnant...with Bandster Baby #1..then had BACK-T0-Back pregnancies and had Bandster Baby #2. Went back up 50 pounds during this time and kind of stayed there for a while and dealt with being a Mom to two babies so close in age...also having a 5 yr old son AND working fulltime. The one thing I can happily say is that I kept the 100 pounds off for three years! Up to this point, I had NEVER been able to do that. Well..about two years ago..I got serious again. I still had 100 pounds to lose. And unfortunately I'm not sure the band was working like it used to but I knew I could work on my exercise and food. So I did. So like I said I have maintained this weight for a year now and I've been told that I most likely have 10 pounds of skin. So it's time to look into Plastic Surgery. I TRULY thought the Plastic Surgeon would tell me that I'm still overweight and what was I thinking trying to get this done without to goal, first. But a surgeon told me I have skin. I didn't know that. I thought it was fat! Anyway, I have a consultation with Dr. Nyte in Maple Valley next Tuesday for a Lower Body lift. I will also eventually need my arms done and a breast lift/possible augmentation. It's funny because I've ALWAYS had a problem with my arms and I ALWAYS thought I'd get the arms done first..but then I actually lost a significant amount of weight and I saw what happens to your tummy. I've always had a tummy but you know..I've been told that I could get the pannus cut off. REALLY??? So I think I want to start with that. My question to anybody who has already done this--what kinds of questions should I ask during the consultation? Thank you so much for reading my LONG post! Michelle Olympia, WA Down almost 200 lbs.

  3. Hi everybody, I was always going to have my P.S. with Dr. Q at Cosmed --had a fabulous band surgery in TJ with Dr. Ortiz. But now my hubby is freaking out about the drug wars in Mexico. Who has been there recently? What's it like? Michelle - WA State
  4. Hi Everybody, I see a few of you have used Dr. Nyte in Maple Valley, WA for your P.S. needs. I live in Olympia, WA and I am interested in him as well. I want to hear anything and everything about his work (particlarly lower body lift if you had one?) and/or his office/staff, does he stand behind his work? Whatever you want to share? Michelle-Olympia, WA
  5. Hi fellow Great Northwesterners! The Seattle Bash and Splash committee would like to formally invite you to the 2007 Seattle Bash and Splash! February 16,17, and 18, 2007 Seattle Marriott Sea-Tac Airport Please visit our website to sign up for our email list and to register! http://barbooch2.homestead.com/SeattleBandsterSplash.html The Bash executive committee has been working diligently to make this a grand event. This is a totally volunteer based, non-profit event put on by Bandsters for Bandsters. The success of the event is because volunteers come forward to help and contribute their time. The bash could now use several people to come forward to help coordinate or help for any event. Sign up to volunteer on the website. Here are some things to remember: This year the event will be held at the SeaTac Marriott Hotel which is located across from Sea-Tac airport, February 16-18, 2007. On the website you'll see the deadlines for early bird discount registration and late registration. The hotels room rate is $99/nite for double occupancy. You will need to tell the hotel that you are with the Bandster Bash and Conference- the code is BAN or you will be charged a much higher rate. The number to call for reservations is 1-800-721-7033. You will be given a hotel confirmation number when making the reservation. You will need to include this with your conference registration form or you will be charged an extra fee. Like most big conferences, conference facility charges are offset by an obligation to have so many hotel rooms booked. Bandsters who book hotel rooms offset these fees. Conference attendants who do not book hotel rooms will be charged an extra fee if they do not stay in the hotel. So that is why we need your hotel registration number which will be cross checked with the Marriott hotel. Please note there is a deadline again this year for both early registration and also to get this discounted room rate. After these dates are passed (see registration form) the hotel will charge you their regular hotel room rates. In the next few days Bash activity coordinators will be posting information on the website about their parts of the event. Feel free to volunteer and ask about any info you may want to know by posting to this site. On behalf of the 2007-Fifth annual Seattle Bash and Splash Executive Committee we welcome you to this wonderful annual event and hope to see you soon.
