Hi everyone! I was recently banded on 6/10/05. I have to admit that I was very nervous prior to the surgery but thank God that everything turned out just fine! I am happy to say that it is now one week since I've had the band and the pain is very minimal. I've lost 10lbs so far and that makes me feel even better. The staff and Dr's at OCC were all so wonderful! I've never had such great service here in the U.S before. For anyone considering doing this surgery, GO FOR IT!!! You'll be amazed at the professionalism and care at OCC.

Hi everyone, I am 20years old and Im being band on 6/10 God willing. Is there anyone out there having surgery on this date? Also, how long is the surgery? How long should I wait before I can go to a theme park such as Universal Studios? Any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks! Claudia =0)

Hi everyone! My name is Claudia and Im new to the board. Im 20 years old and weigh 314 lbs. I have scheduled a date to have surgery on 6/10 and I will be coming from Miami, Fl. I am really nervous about everything. I've done extensive research between gastric banding and gastric bypass surgery and have decided that gastric banding is the option for me. I really don't know how I feel about having some strange piece of plastic inside of me and if my body will reject it or not. My biggest fear is that the band will come off somehow and then I'll have major problems. I would like to know if the scars take a long time to heal and if over time you can even notice them? Also, is the surgery done laproscopically? Anyone's guidance or assurance is greatly appreciated. Thank you.
