Hi I was just wondering if any of you went shopping in Tjiuan(sp)? before of after you had your surgery. I'm trying to figure out how safe it is. The person traveling with me is scared to death that I'm going to Mexico for this surgery. So if any of you can please tell me what you did that would be great. Melissa

Hi everyone well my surgery day is getting closer. August 26th, I can't wait. My sister has decided that she wants the band also so she is going to have it done the same time I do. She was going with me anyways to be my support, now we will be doing this together. I think it's really cool. My other sister just thinks we are crazy, and our mom thinks we are just putting a band aid on our weight problem, and we should just see a counseler to get to the real reason why we are over weight. This is the reason I wasn't even going to tell my mom or sister, but I let people talk me into it. Anyways sorry for going on I can't wait for Aug 26th and to also prove my mom and other sister wrong. Melissa

Hi Debbie I'm going to Mexico next month and having surgery with Dr. Ortiz and it will cost me $9500.00 I have to pay for airfair myself. The price is worth it to me after looking at all the other Dr.'s both my husband and me feel very comfortable with Dr. Ortiz. Melissa

I would like to know if Dr. Ortiz requires you to go on a two week liquied diet before you have your lap band done? other sites I have been on people have been talking about the two week diet they had to be on before surgery.

Hi everyone I will be getting my band in August, and wanted to know if anyone from Oregon can tell me where they get their fills done. I would like to go back to Mexico, but want to have a back up if I can't get their. I emailed the wish center up in Washington State, but that was about a month ago, and no one ever called or emaild me back. Any help I could get would be great. Thanks Melissa

Hi I do have two people going with me. My sister and my stepmom are going with me. They both support me one hundred percent. My husband would go, but I'm making him stay at home with our kids. I don't want to pay someone to watch them. I think it would be go if you had one person with you, I think I would be to scared to do this on my own. Melissa

HI I to will be having my surgery in August. I will get their on the 25th for all my tests, and have my surgery on the 26th. So hopefully I'll be able to stop in and say hi and see how you are doing. Do you have anyone going with you? Melissa

HI can someone please tell me what kind of vitamins do you take after you get your band on. I've read some people take liqued, and some take the regular pill kind. Does it matter which one you take. Thanks Melissa

I'm so happy, I'm going to mexico. My surgery date is August 26th. I'm scared, nervous, and happy all at the same time. I've been reading what other people have posted, and it sounds like we all have the same feeling going into this. I sure do know I can't wait for August to get here. Can someone please tell me you are able to bring two family members with you, and also what do you need to bring to get into mexico? Just I.D., or a bith cer. I'm looking at having the surgery in August, and am trying to get this whole thing planed out. Any help anyone could give me would be really great. Thanks Melissa
