  1. Thanks, yes I felt like a piggy with my half a burger....but now that I'm home I'm back to my protien shakes and my normal foods it will be easier to stay on track.
  2. No pain, ever.. Just discomfort where the left drain is. The tubing is pulling on the stitch a little and it creates a burning sensation. So I am constantly adding gauze to try to reposition and cushion around the tube. it's just irritating. But no pain in my breast area I forget they even got done. And no pain in my tummy or at my incision line. It's been great!
  3. The plane ride home was not difficult at all. I was comfortable and just ready to go home. I got tired from walking through the border crossing and then through the airport. I was just kind of tuckered out.
  4. Hi everyone, Today I am 6 days post op. I feel great. The only complaint I have is my drains. I still have to much fluid draining, so Dr. So was unable to remove them before I left. However, I want them in as long as I need them. I am going to have my regular family Dr. remove them when Dr. So says its time. The problem is one pulls on the stitch and causes a weird uncomfortable burning sensation. There's really no way to fix that but it will go away when they come out. By the way, there is no other seeping from anywhere. My incision line is nice and clean and not bleeding or seeping. I took the pain meds Dr. So prescribed while I was in Mexico. Just the Supradol every 12 hours. I am only taking Tylenol now when needed. Really, beside the drain discomfort, I have had no pain. It seem so crazy. I thought this would be painful, but so far so good. I forget sometimes I had my breast lift because I just don't feel any pain. And most of my stomach is numb. I have to wear the compression garments for the next 4 weeks day and night, and then 4 weeks during the day only. I don't like it much but I am now uncomfortable without it. I only take it off to shower, wash it, and put it back on. Showering is an event in itself. To make sure I don't have my blood pressure drop when I take off the garment, I have to lay down and elevate my feet. Then I undo the garment and lay there for about 10-15 minutes. The first day I showered I did not do this and my blood pressure dropped and broke out in a sweat and then could feel myself about to pass out. UMMM not fun! I was right on that phone calling Dr. So. He explained it was normal and to lie down and let my blood pressure go back to normal. That was a freakish experience LOL. So this may be TMI, but I had my first BM this morning. I was worried it has been almost a week and I have been eating a normal diet. I figured when my body was ready it would happen. But I asked Dr. So before I left if I should be taking something to help or just wait. His advice was to try Metamucil or just add more fiber into my diet. I was afraid it would be painful, but it wasn't. I wasn't straining to go either. So I am super relieved about that. I did not get my band filled before I left. I am going to come back in 6 or 8 weeks to do that if needed. So I have no restriction at this time. I do not feel hungry though. Dr. So said because they did the muscle repair, I will feel restriction from that. He said my muscle were stretched out 12-15 CM WOW...They also removed 4 pounds of skin from my stomach. I will try to get that video up later. I got to see it and WOW.... just WOW. Anyway, I my plan is to stay with my normal band eating habits because I am afraid of having no restriction and making bad choices. I have not had soda since I was banded and have no desire to go there now. I did splurge and eat half of a great hamburger while at the hotel. Anyone staying at the Lucerna, there is a lunch truck down the street behind the hotel and they have the awesomest burgers. Usually I only eat the meat patty and I get cheese on it, but I did half with the bun and lettuce and tomato. I was totally in Heaven. It had the burger patty, ham, carne asada and cheese with a spicy sauce. AMAZING. Well, I will update more later...

  15. 6 days post op..I feel great! Just want those drains out :(

  16. I had my surgery Friday and I am staying until weds. I am comfortable moving around. Walking a bit hunched over still but that's normal and not painful. I have not had really any pain, just some discomfort where the drains are. But I am taking my pain meds twice a day for now. I don't feel drugged or loopy just normal, which is great, I can't wait for the drains to come out cause I'm just walking around the hotel holding my thing...what people must think..I was at OCC today talking with several people in the lobby, I got to see Dr. Ortiz and visit a bit. I go walking around the hotel and I sit and watch tv. Laying down is a bit difficult I have to have my sons help me by picking me up to move me to a lie down position and they have to help me up too. We asked for a lot of pillows from the hotel and we put them in the chair to make it more comfortable cause I've slept there more in a sitting position. Can't wait to get home to my recliner I dont think the plane ride is going to be difficult at all.
  17. I just had my tummy tuck and breast reduction done on Friday. I originally expected to have a tummy tuck, lipo on my abdomen and inner and outer thighs and brazillian butt lift. But we had a change of plans and truthfully, I couldn't be happier. I have horrible anxiety issues and was very anxious on my way down. But I had planned to have this done for quite some time now. I just kept telling myself, I would go to sleep, wake up and start my road to recovery. But it has been so much better than I ever thought. Everyone at OCC has been wonderful, again :-) My procedure went very smoothly. I was scheduled to have it done at 2 in the afternoon. I came to OCC around noon and sat in the waiting room for a little while. Then, I got called back for my blood tests and to start my IV. Then I saw Dr. Jimenez for my EKG and lung test. It was of course just like when I was here to get my band done. I then met with Dr. Castillo to go over my procedure and to do my markings. I was also happy to find that Dr. So would be assisting in my surgery as well. I found that I have much more loose skin than I thought and I will need to have a thigh lift to help that area, lipo will not give me the results I am looking for. So instead of doing that I decided to do just the tummy tuck and breast reduction. Dr Castillo is awesome. He is very friendly and has a nice bedside manner. I had gone to some other consults in my city where I immediately did not care for the Dr's manner. He is very personable and was very patient in discussing all of my options and the bizillion questions I had. I have been mostly asking Cindy and Linda all of my questions. Then I was in the OR and I was so scared I started shaking. Dr sanmiguel is amazing. He gave me a shot in my IV and in a few seconds the shaking stopped and I felt more relaxed. One of my biggest concerns was getting an epidural for the procedure. I have had 3already every time I was pregnant and the idea of them freaks me out. So I knew it was coming and he asked me to lay on my side and curl in a fetal position. I asked one of the nurses Andrea if she would hold my hand cause I'm a big baby with that stuff. She was very comforting and I couldn't help it but I know I was squeezing her poor fingers all together. I just kept saying I'm scared and I know the needle pinch is coming, I said this a few times and the he said ok it's done. I felt the small pinch of a local..did not feel any of the epidural. I was like wow...it's done? Wow!!!! Then he laid me on my back and the next thing I remember, I was waking up in my room and it was over. I woke up very clear headed, not groggy at all. And I was not in pain. I have had some discomfort but amazingly I have not had any of the pain I thought I would. I was walking a little while after I got up, then they took my bandages off and WOW!!! My front butt is gone and I can see a nice silhouette shape in my waist and the girls are perky and not looking at the floor all the time LOL I came back to the Lucerna and I have been walking around, still a little hunched over. A few days I think before I'll be able to straighten up. I do not like the compression garments though. I have 2. One for my tummy that goes from my lower thighs to under my breasts. And then one for my breasts. It feels like I'm wearing a super small bra. I will keep posting on my recovery
