  1. Thank you for the responses yes i was banded by Dr.Ortiz. Gonna get back to the rules and diet, started working out again a month ago bought a stationary bike and a bowflex. My wife is excited for me and say's she's gonna do it with me even though she doesn't have the band.
  2. I got my lapband on 7/16/07 and everything went well for a year i was getting fills and down 75 lbs. Then my mother was diagnosed with Pancreactic Cancer and i stopped getting fills and watching my diet. I took responsiblity for my elderly grandmother, handicapped brother and 16 year old sister and got married. Now two years later I'm kicking myself because i lost control and now the weight is back. What should i do now? Just go in and get a fill or is there something else i need to do first?
  3. Havn't had a fill in atleast 2 years what do i do?

  4. Congratulations Mikey!! The liquid post-op was pretty hard for myself aswell but it's definately do-able. And yeah i live in Corona and the heat wave was killer, especially when i was sitting outside at work for 8 hours...UGH!! On a side note i just got my first fill on Thursday, went great! got there at 12 and was out by 1!
  5. It seems like alot but i believe aslong as you make the effort and lose a few lbs you will be good to go. I know when I was getting ready for my surg they wanted me at 375 and i was still at 403 four day's before surgery. But by sticking to the one slimfast a day and cucumbers i was down to 392 when i arrived at OCC. You will lose the weight if you follow the diet, if your still concerned take a little extra time on each of your walks to go a little farther or even go a little faster.
  6. i don't really understand why this is..and most people i've told are like "what??" can anyone enlighten me on why this is(i must have been spaced out when i was told).
  7. After myself and my group of fellow patients were banded i took it upon myself to stop by their rooms and chat everytime i was up and walking. In particular there was one woman and im sorry to say i can't remember her name who asked me to keep in touch. I wasn't able to get your email but if by chance you visit this board please make a post so we can keep in touch, i'd love to know how your progressing and having someone going through the same things as you is really nice to have.
  8. Hey Everyone my name is Tom im 23 and was banded on 17 July 2007 I will start with saying i understand and sympathize with what everyone is saying. I started solid foods on Monday 8/6/07 after being on a liquid diet for a total of 2 months. While i didn't find the liquid diet to be too difficult to handle i did find that watching everyone eat, things like pizza and fried chicken was a horrible time for me. About a week ago i tried to cheat with a piece of bread and some sloppy joe which was a horrible choice as it lead to some good pain and my first experience with PB'ing it wasn't worth it . So i just stuck with the liquid diet until the time the doctors said. In the 2 day's since i've had a grilled chicken sandwhich, 1 scrambled egg, half a green salad all of which went down fine but i had 4 forks of rice and instantly afterwards the pain came and PB'ing again. I was shocked that i could eat these other things and yet rice caused a pb'ing episode. Anyways im happy with my results so far and the way it has made me feel, im thinking of going back to school for the first time in the 5 years since i finished high school, im looking for a job and i've started talking to a girl that likes me, a shock for me as i was starting to think i was going to be alone and feeling horrible for the rest of my life. Things are on the up and i feel that the band has really turned things around for me. Love to all my fellow bandsters, keep strong!
