If we use the van we need to coordinate through Rene' at the clinic. I would prefer to stay at Lucerna but I'm open to options. I have an appointment Friday 1.19 - not sure what time. My flight is paid. Lucerna is NOT paid. I'm open to the trolley....I'd love to learn the process - or we can share the van... But we need to make some plans pretty quickly - who is up for this going down on 1.19 and returning on 1.20?? How many people???? If you fly in around 11:10 Friday....we could all meet at the airport and posse down to the clinic. Fills are fast, but I know we have to coordinate them. I would love to take the trolley but if there are surgery patients scheduled already...maybe we can ride down in there van. I'll check. So much to consider, huh? Kristi: I'm flying in on American - arriving on 1.19.07 at 11:10am to San Diego airport. Staying at the Lucerna which means trans from airport to clinic, hotel expense, and ride back Saturday 1.20.07 from Lucerna to airport. I am going alone and I'm available to share expenses if you can work something out for arrival within an hour or so (early/late) of my flight???? Let me know your thoughts... We might even get 3 women together if that works out.....at least for the transportation - might be a little much to have 3 in one room.

Ok sooooo.... How much fill do you have now - after your 2nd fill? When was your 2nd fill? How much have you lost since? At what point did you begin to lose

Hi: I was banded August 10 and had a 4.3 cc fill (VG) in September. I'm going back friday for another fill. I cannot tell you how defeated I feel - I had originally lost 18 pounds, but since the fill I've actually managed to GAIN 4 pounds. I'm ready to chew body parts I'm so upset. I have felt some restriction maybe 1-2 times....and it was momentary. I am constantly hungry and I can eat 85-90% of what I ate pre-band. I'm praying that the 2nd fill will make a significant difference. Mentally I expected the first fill not to matter, but living it is another matter. We keep pouring money out for no results.....gets very frustrating and some follow-up counseling or phone calls from an English speaking person at the clinic surely would be motivational if they could say "it's normal".....or "just hang on - the 2nd fill is coming".....or something. So - we shall see.....right now I've pissed away a LOT of money.

I will be there on the 10th - returning on the 11th. We could share the return trip to the airport together.

Who is going to TJ on November 10 and returning on November 11 - anyone?

Hi all.... I'm flying into San Diego on Friday 11.10 for a fill. Arriving on American around 11:10am. Is anyone else going that day or do you want to make plans to go? We could share transportation cost. Or, is anyone going for surgery that day that I could hitch a ride with? I'm going down Friday - coming back Saturday morning so we could share cost of clinic transportation Friday 11:30-noon-ish, and Saturday morning about 8am-ish. Anyone? Denise

Questions for you...... Have you only had the one fill in January? Any fills since? Where were they done? Did you go back to Ortiz or did you go elsewhere? Which band do you have - the "regular" one or the VG band? Have you told Ortiz that you've only lost 15 pounds in 10 months? I am a recent patient of Ortiz and I would think he would consider this weightloss to be unacceptable in 10 months' time. I shouldn't put words in his mouth, that's just my own logic..... My understanding is that it will take 2-3 fills to get good restriction and that's if you go to him to get the fills. If they're done in the states it could take 4-6-8 fills to get restriction. Let me know your thoughts? Your e-mail really concerns me....
