I understand that they "might not".. I was just wondering if anyone else had surgery without losing any weight first. The scale just isn't dropping for me. Thanks. Littleroo27 Posted January 23, 2007 Report Share Posted January 23, 2007 I think this depends on a lot of factors. Did you stay on the proper pre-op diet before hand? What is your BMI? One woman on the board had her surgery done without even doing the pre-op diet, but she was a lower end BMI to start with. The whole point is to shrink the liver, so I would think that if you stuck with the low calorie pre-op diet like you're supposed to, they would probably do it anyway.
