Rash around surgery site

Hi all,

I just want to know if anyone have developed the problem that I am having right now. I was banded 8/15/07. 9/5/07 I developed a rash around my surgery site and it is itching like crazy. I have been treating it with hydrocortisone cream, but that has not done the trick. Now I am going to see my medical doctor next week and pray I have not contacted some contagious skin infection. Has anyone had this problem? If so, when did your itchy rash resolve?

Hi Minnie,

I didn't develop a rash, just alot of itching around the port incision and a couple others, and I knew it had something to do with the glue like bandage over the incisions. Also, the healing process and that sticky bandage was probably both to blame. That and when the sticky stuff started coming off. I just put some neosporin on them and I was good to go. Didn't last too long, but I remember itching alot before I knew if I didn't put something on it, I would end up hurting myself.
