snowbird Posted October 21, 2007 Report Share Posted October 21, 2007 It's a larger band that holds more fluid for fills. It is usually used on patients with higher BMI's. The surgeon decides which band is best for you. My husband received the VG band, while I got the regular one. Some of the contributors to this forum who have the VG can probably give you more info, but as I understand it, the VG takes more fluid and often more fills to get to proper restriction.
