For you experienced bandsters what kind of fast did you have to do before your preop testing? I know it was 8 hours but were you allowed any liquid? Same question for fasting before Surgery. Clynn Posted April 23, 2008 Report Share Posted April 23, 2008 I believe before the pre-op testing you're allowed water since they'll be taking blood and its near impossible to get a blood sample if you are dehydrated. Before surgery, however, it is no food or liquids after midnight the night before as it can cause an embolism during surgery which is bad times.
