why havent i lost much weight, im really dissapointed

Recommended Posts

I have had my surgery 20th of january i have only lost about 5 to 6 kilos which i think is not much. I went into this operation thinking i was going to lose weight dramatically by now i feel i should have lost at least 10 or more kilos.

Why is this so??????????? Everyone has seemed to have lost weight but me im starting to feel like a failed lapband paitient maybe this isnt going to work for me.

Is it possible the band might not be in the right place im going mad and dont know what to do or maybe go see another surgeon. im from Australia.

Please someone help me to clear thing up its making me depressed.

There are several things that could be hindering your process

1. Consuming liquid calories, such as ice cream and high fat coffees, eating "around" your band

2. Drinking while you eat, this pushes food through as well as stretches your pouch allowing you to eat more

3. Not exercising at least 30 minutes a day or 10,000 steps

4. Not having a fill to keep your band active and working with your body

Your band is a tool to help you not the answer to your problem. If you are losing weight slowly and steadily that is the goal of the band to help you live a healthy lifestyle. Keep your chin up, and do everything that is needed to lead an active healthy lifestyle. Your band is your friend.....so it wants you to succeed. I know you can do it!! Keep yup the good work.
