ackovach
Anyone lose weight during the 3 weeks before your 1st fill while on solids? I am losing on the post-op liquid phase and hope to keep the momentum during the solid food phase. Praying for restriction before my 1st fill. Kittycat
Yes, when I was on the post-op diet, I lost alot of weight about 20 some lbs...liquids will do that to you. I gained 7 lbs post op, but it went and then some after about 4-5 days. Good Luck!!
Mizzoupoodle
Yes, I lost on the post op liquid diet. By the 21st day, I didn't even want to look at soup and had to force myself, lol. I haven't weighed since then, I am sticking to a once a week weighing to keep myself sane:)
C1BandedBabe
I too lost on the post op liquid phase, but gained a few back when I started on solids, but lost those again as well...
Kimmy in MD
I lost on the post-op diet, not huge amounts but was down about 20 lbs by the time of my first fill. I only lost 2lbs on the pre-op diet.
ackovach
Yes, I am doing very well with weight loss on the 21 days of liquids. I can eat solids this Friday, 8/21. I only lost 4 pounds on the preop depending on the day the I weighed & who weighed me. I have lost 13 more on the post-op. So now I hoping to lose some on the next 3 weeks before my first fill. I have huge anxiety that I will not be able to control my appetite. I got really hungry today while driving around. Every fast food restaurant was calling my name......AMY COME SEE ME ON FRIDAY....... yikes.... I am scared about solid foods. Today, I actually ate in a restaurant for the 1st time since surgery. They have awesome tomato basil soup. It was so,so good. I have learned that I can be satisfied eating like the dainty, skinny person I want to be. But it takes so much control..... I am going to try to keep this up during 3 weeks before my 1st fill.

It does take mental training to stop eating...when I go to a restaurant I find they give you way too much food and although I get full very quickly, there is still food on my plate..and I want it!! But self-control needs to kick in and push that plate away or cover it will your dirty napkin and get rid of it. It's tough at first, but you can do it!! I did not and went right back into my habits and then waited a while before getting 2 fills and getting serious.... Don't do that! Don't slip back into it! I could have lost all my weight before I had my baby if I hadn't slipped back into it, right where you are! I like that you said eat like the skinny person, I am doing that now too. I have lots of friends who eat very little (like what I eat now) and I think that's a great way to think!

I just wanted to let you know, that there will be times when you plateau and it could last a week or it could last a month before you lose one single pound! Don't get discouraged and throw in the towel, because the next day you could drop 2 or 3 pounds! Good luck on your lap band journey!!
