HELP! I THINK I HAVE A KIDNEY INFECTION

I am day 9 post-op and I have a horrible pain in my lower back. I think it's a kidney infection although I'm not sure. How does this happen if I am on a liquid diet? And by the way, I'm still hungry!! Does anyone know what I can take? What do I do about the pain? I'm drinking cranberry juice but I am freakin' miserable over here!~

you can also buy some medication at the store called Azo-standard. It helps with the pain that you get while you go to the bathroom. If you do have an infection you need to get antibiotics. The infection can move back up to your kidneys and give you big problems. Good luck.

Antibiotic for sure. Make sure Dr. knows you are banded and on liquid diet so he gives you right antibiotic not one that is too hard on your digestive system. Since you are on day 9 at least you can have yogurt drinks at the same time to keep from messing up your intestines too much.

I have a kidney stone that bothers me from time to time. Doc says it's too small to worry about, so it's just kinda 'there'.

It makes my lower back ache and it hurts right through to the front. Maybe you have a stone????
