RogerF Posted October 6, 2006 Report Share Posted October 6, 2006 I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for San Diego hotels. I would like to fly in on a Friday and make my way down to TJ on Saturday for a fill and back to SD to enjoy the rest of the weekend. I could get to TJ either by the OCC shuttle or trolley, so a free hotel shuttle from the airport would be preferred, and accessible to the trolley system would help. I heard about the Best Western Americana (it says it has a free shuttle to the TJ clinics), but that is quite a ways south and you still have to get there from the airport. I would rather stay closer in the downtown area to explore the marina, old town, beach, zoo, etc. Any suggestions? Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
cleo6666 Posted October 6, 2006 Report Share Posted October 6, 2006 ABSOLUTELY!!!!! Double Tree Plaza at Hazard Center. Free ride from Airport to Hotel. $5.00 from Hotel back to airport. Here's what me and my fellow banditos did.... 1) Took flights to SD airport 2) Had shuttle pick us up at airport and drive us to clinic for fills 3) Split a taxi to come back over the boarder to the airport 4) Called HOTEL and had a driver pick us up at the airport 5) STAYED IN THE NICEST ROOM EVER! Close to shopping, trolley, movies, etc. The trolley system in SD is fantastic 6) $5 got us from the hotel to the airport. They have HUGE rooms and a fantastic view of Balboa Park. It is also minutes from the airport. The rates are very reasonable. The only warning I would have is that you should be gay friendly to stay there as I believe most of the staff is gay. But so is most of San Diego, if you go to certain areas ABSOLUTELY!!!!!
