  1. It sounds like he is getting it out because he wants to play sports. I would assume that from that he said. I could not imagine playing heavy sports and getting kicked there a few times, that would not be good. It is a good video.
  2. thank goodness, I think I am ok. I am eating and drinking ok but will keep my eyes peeled for symptoms like that, that sounds horrible. Maybe it was something I eat. I did drink a little too early too, I am trying not to drink at all for at least 1/2 hour to one hour afterwards but I was so thirsty. It was a bad idea, probebly gave me the heartburn. I have learned my lesson. Thanks again for the info.
  3. I had heartburn last night real bad and someone told me that was a sign. but today, I am eating and drinking just fine. I think I worry too much. I am waiting for my second fill and have been eating and drinking whatever I want. Which probebely is too much, so I am cutting back, it was a horrible experience to have that type of heartburn. I just wanted to know if anyone knew what signs someone would have if the band moved. Thanks
  4. My only concerns about the PM's is there are people who contact me that dont post in the public section, I think they are nervous. I dont want to lose contact with them. I have sent them a PM in hopes to get their address to continue contact. I was not aware this was leaving until today, I hope they have time to respond.
  5. Check this out Kinda cute.
  6. I went through mymedicalloans.com and they approved me, I think I am paying $325.00 a month, I dont like it but it was worth it. My payment is high because I paid for mine and my husbands too. Did you check them out?
  7. The OCC, Dr Ortiz did mine. He is very good. I would check him out, there are many people here who can recommend him and give you details about the whole thing. Be careful when you work with agencies like that.
  8. I see that you are in Portland, Oregon and so am I. You might want to check out my husbands dentist. He did these great dentures for him, they clip in. I have never seen this before and I was told they are a thing that came out about 20 years ago, that is when he got them. This guy was one of the first guys in Oregon to do them and I hear he has new up to date stuff. His name is Alan Snodgrass, he is in Vanvouver, Washington. He is very reasonable. When it was time to get my husbands dentures replaced he took payments and charged us a very reasonable amount. My insurance - Kaiser, who I just dumped. Refused to do any type of denture that clips in. I am going to see this guy about getting two of my teeth replaced. My husband says this guy is one of the best. You might want to see what he would charge. He is at 360-514-9212 Alan C Snodgrass, DDS. From what my husband says and I can't wait to find out. He is a really great guy. Let me know what he says. I got see him in January, I think on the 5th or something. Stormy
  9. She is asking if anyone knows of any dentist out there. At least that is my understanding. I too will be running into this. I have two teeth that will need to be replaced with implants and I will need to check out my options outside the US I cant afford how much it is here. I hear there are good dentists in Mexico. I would do a search on the internet and see what you come up with.
  10. I am so jelious. I feel like I am at a stand still right now and completely frustrated that I can not get a fill. I hope to be where you are some day. I am not sure what is going to happen. May have to find somewhere else to get a fill. Where are you going for yours?
  11. I too was addicted. I would drink only cherry pepsi during the day. Never any water. couldnt figure out why I constantly got UTI's. Dr keep telling me DRINK WATER. But I only wanted my cherry pepsi. I haven't had one since 08/01/08 and yes I have craved one but I am determined. I have not given up my caffeine (coffee) but I think I can live without cherry pepsi now, it was really hard and the UTI's, I have only had two since this started. I am drinking more water then I ever did before. The dr thinks that my body is adjusting and the UTI's should stop happening. It is so unhealthy to drink that stuff, plus it is fattening. Dr Ortiz told me after about 6-9 months, I could have one or two but I dont plan to do that. He told me that people need to be very careful about that stuff. That it is really not a good idea. I think he gave in cause I begged. But I agree with him, it is not worth it. He is so funny. I will follow the advise they gave me. It is not worth being fat, so I can have a soda, yuck!
  12. Hubby and I were banded at OCC together on 09/19/08. I was a great experience to do it together. I am glad you two go to do it too. It has been a great help to have another person following the same path as me. Although he has lost more weight then me, which I tease him about, it has been good to talk to someone who knows exactly what I am talking about. Just watch eachother lose the weight, it is so exciting. It has been a great adventure for us. I look forward to returning to OCC to get a check up next year. They are great people and made us feel very safe and confident. Welcome aboard bandland both of you.
  13. I am so bummed. We have snow and Dr Kilpatrick was coming down from Eugene Oregon and I guess the roads are a mess, so she rescheduled us til next Friday. I had myself all worked up to get it done. What a bummer. I need a fill something fierce. This weather is driving us crazy. It snows then it dont, then it snows, then it dont. What really gets me is I think I will be bloated next Friday because of "that time" I am not sure. I never know when it is coming. If it comes, I will have to cancell. That really ticks me off. All I can do it hope that dont happen. I am very uncomfortable today, my bra straps keep falling down and I dont know why, I feel fat and I am so disappointed. It is just me, I am having a bad day. I just really wanted this to happen today. RRRRRRRRRRR
  14. Did you see this story. The woman says she went to OCC and immediatly had complications. Now why would you leave OCC if you had a problem. I hate when people do this. www.keprtv.com/news/35190824.html.
  15. I think firecracker is a cool name. I think it is hard sometimes to come up with something original. I always use the same thing no matter where I go. Just plan old stormy. Next time maybe I will be. Bond, James Bond. HA!!!
  16. I think the reason why we did so well there is because we had someone who spoke spanish with us. It was easy to tell someone off. We had a good time, but we didnt stay a real long time. I guess the whole thing was interesting to me. I had never seen anything like that before. As you can tell I am not well traveled. I just laughed at the pushy ones. We only went into the stores where there was no one out there grabing at us. This one guy tried to get me to buy his purses and I laughed at him cause he tried to tell me it was a REAL Coach, like I wouldnt know. HA!
  17. I live in Portland, Oregon and went to Dr Ortiz in Mexico, it was a great experience. The only cost afterwards so far is my fills. The trip didn't even cost that much. I was nervous too but we had a great time and a great experience.
  18. So on the 19th hubby and I get our second fills. We are a bit nervous, since we have been eating pretty much anything we want. Bread seems to be a little painful on the way down but other than that I think we are doing ok. We have adjusted our diets and what I have noticed is I am drinking more water which is what I needed so badly to do but never made the effort. Now I want water all the time. We debate alot about what is for dinner. Before it was just go out and get something. Things have really changed. We talk more about what's important to have at dinner. I think what I am concerned about is, is this going to change. Will we be changing our meals again? What were things that you noticed after the 2nd fill? I am hoping obviously for more weight loss but was the hunger gone? I seem to be hungrier. It has been a lot of will power to really stay on target. I have had a couple sandwhiches where I was concerned about the band, since the bread hurt on the way down. I worry about slipped band. After the second fill, did people have to give up bread completely? Can anyone give me an idea of how long their second fill lasted? We are getting a bit tight on money so I am hoping it will be good for at least a couple months so we can get some more money together for the next fill. Any information would be helpful. Thanks
  19. My hubby got banded the same day as me and has lost two times as much as me. It makes me upset because I want that. But I am proud of him. I just worry about when it is going to happen for me. I guess I am jelious. I hope this next fill will kick it in gear.
  20. Oh my God, is there ever. Revolution AVE is incredible. I shopped for hours. At least it seemed like it. It was wonderful. I got some great stuff. I felt completely safe there. Ask the hotel, if you are staying at Lucerna, they will make sure you get there and back by cab. If that was any reflection on the shopping available in Mexico, I cant wait to visit all of Mexico cause that was very cool.
  21. 1. Name: Kim aka Stormy 2. Location: Portland, Oregon 3. Age: 41 4. Band Date:09/19/08 5. Married: Yes, 11 years and he is still alive. He even got banded with me, what a great guy. 6. Children of the human or furry kind: One son and three dogs 7. Hobby(ies): Computers, ATV's Horseback riding (when I get thin enough to get back on) Poetry 8. Work: Case Manager 9. What was the deciding factor(s) on getting banded: I am fat and tired of being unhealthy 10. Interesting factoid: I am the most honest person you will ever meet, sometimes too honest. If you aske me if that dress makes you look fat, be ready for me to tell you "ya it does". I love Law and Order shows and shows where people are caught in the act of doing something stupid. I drive way to fast and it is a mirable that I am still alive with all the stupid things I have done. Thank God for Miracles. I still beleive that something good is going to happen, that life has a great purpose, maybe I will will the lotto, maybe I better start playing. HA!
  22. I live in Portland, Oregon and was banded at OCC on 09/19/08 with my husband, his band is bigger than mine and he has lost more weight then me but they say that is normal. We both went to Olympia Washington for our first fill but our second which is on the 19th we are going to Dr Kelly Kitzpatrick. I hear she is real good. There is also the fill center in Salem. I hear they are good too. You will have a great time while you are down there and that OCC has great people. Let us know of your progress and how you are doing. Shopping down there was a blast. I can't wait to go back someday. I need another purse. HA! Relax have a good time. It is worth it.
  23. I am ready for a fill, I only have 1.6 in my band. So far only one fill. So I thought today I would try one of those really small McDonald hamburgers. I was in a hurry and I had a short lunch. I should have known better. The bun did not like going down, I could feel it. Figures the one time I decide to eat junk, it does not feel good. I think I have learned my lesson. Junk food is also the enemy! I never really liked those hamburgers anyhow. Not only that, when I attempted to eat it, I dont think I chewed enough. I dont know but I wont do it again. Once I get my second fill, there is not way I will go near something like that again. Take this as a warning. BAN McDonalds. HA!
  24. I ws freaked out too, very nervous but it was a great experience. You should be having you surgery today right? Keep us updated..
  25. I think it is very nice that he wrote this. But my question is why did he make you wait. Even though my husband was against it and then came around and got it done too. He would never hold me back from what I really want. Now that he has come around, have you asked him why he would not help you to acheive this? I am just courious..
