  1. Congratulations on your pre-surgery weight loss and I know you cannot wait (weight?) til Thursday. I go to the new YMCA on Fleming Island in Orange Park. I am afraid I wouldn't go if it was any farther off. I have trouble with the things you do because of my knees.. and my fibro. We will have to get together sometime. Send me a message if you ever want to talk, and I will send you my phone number. BTW, if you are my friend Dianne, who lives on the intercoastal, I will faint. Also, I can hardly stand the thought of giving up Barbara Jean's she crab soup forever.
  2. Julie.. thank you for reminding me.. I sort of did what you said already.. have hung toward the back with the "upper middle aged" people, noodles under our arms and just swishing and kicking our feet.. I stayed moving the whole time, and the only thing that bothered me afterwards was a kind of stiff area in my neck, along one side.. don't know how in the world I did that! I did have to buy a new suit, and they were 16 bucks, so I bought 2. Catalina's, even, at Wallyworld. I had one, but it had been SIX years since I had put it on, and the elastic was a little..mm... non functional. You are right about one more thing... suiting up and showing up is the hardest part for me. This time, I will break through that urge to just stay home all the time. I can do this...
  3. Thanks for posting the pictures. It is so nice to know who we are talking to. (Or, to whom we are speaking. ... any English teachers out there?)
  4. Congratulations! Gotta love those milestones!
  5. Hot Dog! You go girl! (ACK! another food reference)
  6. Okay.. I know I am the calorie police around here, but wings are very high calorie/g of protein. You can eat them as a treat once in a while, but you cannot really eat enough of the meat to even count it as a protein. More than half the calories for each wing is fat.. not good.. Nutrition Facts Serving Size 1 unit (yield from 1 lb ready-to-cook chicken) (29.0 g) 1 wing, bone removed (49.0 g) One wing unit (drummie or flat) Amount Per Serving Calories 94 Calories from Fat 57 % Daily Value* Total Fat 6.3g10% Saturated Fat 1.7g8% Polyunsaturated Fat 1.5g Monounsaturated Fat 2.6g Cholesterol 23mg8% Sodium 93mg4% Total Carbohydrates 3.2g1% Dietary Fiber 0.1g0% Protein 5.8g (for drummie) Vitamin A 1% • Vitamin C 0% Calcium 1% • Iron 2% This is without any kind of sauce on it. 7. I have a magic bullet and I love it.. it is easy to use and clean up.. makes enough for 1.
  8. Great post, Jann! I am printing these out in case i ever need a protein shake again
  9. Actually, I did something today that makes me very proud of myself. After the repeated urging of my therapist, my family practice dr., and my pain doctor, I have joined the YMCA and have started water aerobics. I hope it isn't like everything else I have done.. My therapist says I need to get out of my house and meet people, my other two doctors said I need the exercise and the pain doc says it will strengthen my knee. I am happy with myself for now..
  10. You and your wife and the rest of your family are in our prayers and the prayers of our prayer circle. I pray for the peace that passes all understanding to envelope you all in the arms of Jesus as you go through this difficult time. Paula
  11. Yep.. you are so right. Today I was tempted to pull into one of my favorite restaurants, and right about the time I got there, I thought, "Why do I want to do this... I will be able to MAYBE eat one cup of food." That really is a good deterrent for me.
  12. You will not ever regret this decision.. Your sweet hubby is going to worry regardless. Invite him along and add a day or two in San Diego before the surgery, and make it a little vacation.
  13. Welcome back, Trina First of all, my most sincere condolences on the loss of your sister-in-law. You walked 15 miles in one DAY? OMG, girl, you are a machine! What kind of job do you do? You were missed.... enjoy your fill trip, and let us know how it was when you get home.
  14. Welcome to our forum and congratulations on your weight loss. I think your fill patients are lucky to have a doctor that understands their perspective. :lb9:
  15. You are looking great! Can't wait to see you in your next picture update!
  16. OMG! You look fantastic! Congratulations for your hard work!!
  17. Bump Read this... you will never plug.. err.. gulp again..
  18. The whole idea sounds great to me... a little farther off.. like a whole days drive.. but it could be done..
  19. I don't remember at what point, but I finally forgot about my port... It quit hurting and I forgot that it was there (physically.) I was sucking in my stomach the other day and reached up to see what that bulge was, duhhhhhhhhh... I am not happy with how far it sticks out.. it really bothers me... I don't know what I will decide to do about that; probably nothing, since I am sure it will involve money. Ooops.. chased a rabbit for a moment there... I think yours is too new yet not to be uncomfortable with bending, pushing, pulling, lifting, or anything of that type that you are not normally used to doing.
  20. Thank you, Dawn! I used to use the Walden dressings and I had forgotten about them. Thank you for reminding me about them. I agree about the deliciousness of the South Beach bars.. yum..
  21. I think anything we could get a group together for would be fun. Might oughtta watch neutral teams, though, so no blows are thrown. I am just 4 hours out... someone plan a party for Sept.
