  1. Hello Everyone, Can anyone shed some light on port site healing and what one can expect???? I was banded on 2/21/08 and want to know, what to expect and what I can do or not to do to help my port site heal :-?
  2. HEY MAMMA MICHEL. Yes, I would love to go back to TJ for a fill with you. I will go back in 6-8 weeks. Please reach me at: lawdiva2006@yahoo.com.
  3. Hi Darlene, I have high blood pressure and was newly diagnosed 4 months ago. I like you was worried about anything that would effect my pressure. I am 42 years old and 100lbs overweight. I got banded 2/21/08 and GOD YES, I was concerned about having the procedure with this condition. Most people looking to have this surgey, too have BP and some other issues. Now the issues of not having your blood pressure under control is another issue. :-? What meds are you trying? I was blessed that the first pill I tried worked!...... Quinpril 10 mg a day. There was an adjustment period, but I made it thru it. Call the center and speak to the Cardiologist to see what they suggest if any. Your doctor should have some input on this as well. I took my pill the day of surgery and today and everything is fine. I also took something else they gave me before going into surgery for the BP . Bottom line ,prayer is what worked for me. I needed to know that I knew that the Lord was on my side and I then had to TRUST Him, for the unseen issues I had no control over. Finally, the Dr.s at the Center look at all these issues in determining how to deal with you during your time for surgery! =D> You will do just fine, My prayers go before you. Peace Monet
  4. > I first want to give thanks to my Lord Savior Jesus Christ for providing solutions for the stuck times in my life. I am grafeful for prayer and the workings that it affords us! I like most of you, traveled to TJ to have my surgery done to save some money, and because I had heard that Dr. Oriz is the best in what he does! The service was Outstanding!!!!!!!!! The staff was warm and polite and me and others all recieved one on one service. The surroundings were warm and exciting. I went by myself from Las Vegs, NV and never regreted not having someone with me. The lobby in the Center was full with US citizens from all over the States getting the bands. We all talked and shared our questions and fears......but no one had doubts abut doing it. Once you get to Mexico, it was all good. Once your in the Center, the staff coming in were very kind and loving with one another and most importantly they treated us like gold. =D> The anticipation of surgery lessened as the next bunch of newbies ( bandsters) come out from their over night stays in the Center going to there hotel room with smiles on their faces. No doubt it was the same people that I had just meet the day before. Well it was my turn.....one by one they called us in the back . MUST TAKE BREAK HERE NEED TO EAT AND TAKE MEDS, WILL POST LATER,,,THE STORY GETS BETTER STAY TUNED I'M SO EXCITED
  5. Maggie, I am simiply am responding to your post. You have a right to say what you want. Please remember that others are coming and may not want to see " your view on how you were "negatively treated". I know for a fact the one person coming next week, you scared her. Maybe what I'm saying is that you should look for the "good " in your visit and focus on that. Your comments are about "other peolple's business" and why someone should or should not be banded. You also implied negative thoughts about the doctors and their motives. All I'm saying is that others are coming, so some things we need to keep to ourselves, and let others experience their journey Thank you for your well wishes, I appreciate them. By the way how are you doing other wise? Grace
  6. Jennifer, I am in Mexico tonight alone. i will be banded 2/21. We all need support, so follow your heart! I can tell you this, you can not stay in the hospital with your friend after surgery. You have to go back to the hotel. There is nothing to do unless you bring a freind...im my option. Your a young woman and it would not be safe to hang out by your self. However, your friend may really need to have your present here for her. Follow your heart!
  7. Hello everyone, I am in Mexico now and scheduled to be banded 2/21/08. I have read numerous postes and keep getting the impression that I am going to have this huge issue with food like never before!!!! I have read posts of people not clear on what they can eat and what bothers them. I feel that the issue with food will seem to become this "big deal". Do you ever become band free of problems, if I my say???? Please give me some insight on this (smile) Thank u for any and all posts. :-?
  8. Maggi, I'm am sitting in the hotel in Mexico as I reply to "your experience", ready to be banded 2/21/07. Sorry to hear that "your experience" was not great! However, I noticed that you never mentioned the "real issue" that you came out out of this surgery safe and sound. I would hope to think that, that would be your real concern. Life is so short, but yet we focus on trival experiences and waste our time in so doing! I am glad and praising God that you got thru your surgery safely. I would like to reiderct yoru attention to the healing that you must now do and not focus on what they did not do while you were visiting in their care. I too went thru the process of waiting today to have my tests done, however I would have never gotten on this site and posted such negative accounting for others to read! The Cinic is the bomb, those people are doing what they do and you, so happen to be one in thousand that will pass thru their center. The bottom line is Dr. Ortiz is good at what he does. period. I am enjoying my time here and remember, in the US you go home the same day. For $7,900 I was treated like a queen. Im not sure where you live at, but I wish you the best and a speedy recover. Remember, life is a gift given to all of us, pick and chose what is the real issues of life. unforantanly, I would say that this is not one of them. Focus on learning your band, and I'm sure you will be busy enough! May the peace of God be with you. Others reading her post l and are coming to the center to be banded, trust and believe your in good hands and the experience is wonderful and exciting. The staff is humble and professional and are gracious and kind. Pick and choose what you read so that your hopes and dreams are not tanted God be with you!
  9. Maggie, Wishing you the best and a speedy recovery! God be with you!
