  1. GREAT POST !!!! Happy Bandiversary and congrats on your success so far! Way to go
  2. I'm so glad you are happy with the results so far CONGRATS !!!! How long would you think it takes after the brachio to get back to work? I'm trying to get off at least 2-3 weeks Can't wait to get my arms done ... but my PS want's me at goal for the arms The piccies are not available yet - I guess they need the approval of one of the administrators Again, congrats
  3. It's not worth the risk, really! As we know, everyone is different, but I tought so too and that's why didn't go earlier. Bad thing is, that if you are too tight, your body goes into starvation mode (if you don't eat right) and on top of that you will most likely only lose water weight but not the real deal. Considering your upcoming surgery in TJ maybe you can take care of both
  4. I'd say tuff it out for a few more days, staying on liquids and see if it's loosen up again, if not go get an unfill !! I just had one last Saturday because I could not take it anymore. For almost 2 weeks, I was not able to drink until late afternoon and could eat sliders/solids only on very, very good days, late in the evening ... HORRIBLE She took out a whole 1cc It felt sooo good to finally get the water down and eat right without sliming & PB'ing Downside -> Things settled down, I have almost no restriction right now and have to wait 4 weeks before she gives me a fill. G'luck and keep us posted !!
  5. Karen, you look absolutely A-W-E-S-O-M-E !!!
  6. ... o.k. ... You know you are a bandster couple (out for dinner) if the words "you first" do not only mean DH holds the door for you, but let you go first to the bathroom if both have food stuck and start PB'ing Have a great weekend

  14. Thank you ladies soooo much for all the nice compliments!!! *blushing* I really do believe, that my "online bandster friends" and the support on here helped me a great deal in this journey. Lisa, Pammie, a super special thank you for sticking around answering all the questions a newbie can have and I promise, I'll work on the "couples pic" DH is just still hiding when he see's a camera LOL Dana, Sabrina & Jazzy look how great you're doing, you girls are awesome Denise - luv ya back big time
  15. It's unbelievable how time is flying by .... Last year in March, on my 39th b-day, I just could not take it anymore. Over the years, after giving up on the "yoyo-dieting" I just got bigger and bigger to the point where I was morbit obese with an BMI of 42.2. I was scared, that if I continue like this, I will be a fat, unattractive and most of all unhealthy person not being able to enjoy life and all it has to offer. In a short time, I did alot of research and came to this forum and Dr. Ortiz. I made up my mind and told my hubby (the best ever) that this is what I wanted to do and he just said "if that is what you like to do, then go for it. I will support you in every way I can". Done deal - the next day, I called the OCC and talked to Carolyn, made my appoinment and off we went to TJ on April 28, 2009 for my lapband surgery. The whole experience was simply wonderful, I believe Dr. Ortiz and Dr. Martinez are the best in their field and the complete staff is so loving and caring, you just gotta love 'em all (((THANK YOU))) Life with the band is not always easy! There are times when I drop the weight like nothing other times when I'm riding the same few pounds up and down and like eveybody else, I have to fight the darn thing called "plateau". There are days where I wish I could stuff my face with everything in sight but then I just remind myself how great it felt to finally being able to sit down and cross my legs again (yup that was one of my biggest NSV's) For everybody out there .... THE BAND DOES WORK ... not overnight though, for some faster - for some slower, but be patient, stay positive and don't give up, the band will help you in your journey My hubby also got banded 6 month ago, lost 60 lbs. so far and now we are working on our last 20'something pounds together - Life is good April 2008 April 2009
  16. I totally forgot to post - but I voted for you before the deadline. You do an amazing job! hat's up girlie
  17. I never liked beer, but was a coke zero drinker period - except a ginger ale or wine cooler every now and then. Since my surgery I tried twice a carbonated drink and it was just weird. I did not like the feeling of the bubbles in my pouch and a flat coke/ginger ale simply tastes like &^$*% So now I live on a shot (1/4) of fruit juice diluted with water (3/4) and it's totally fine with me
  18. GOOD LUCK Karen - let us know how you're doing Sitting on a plateau forever, but hoping I'll reach my goal sometime so I can get my arms done
  19. BRAVO - CONGRATULATIONS- YAYYYY YOU !!!! I just love your post Bill - as always simple & honest So now back to the subject .... Dawnie and I did not forget ... you're still due for a spanking Luv ya big time (((HUGS))) Ute
  20. Maybe a little bit cheesy ... but ...Everything Happens For A Reason :lb12: From what I read, it was probably for the best, that you ended up not having surgery at this "place" I know you'll be very pleased with the OCC - simply the best decision & experience I could have asked for! Keep us posted!
  21. Misty .... one word ... A-W-E-S-O-M-E :clapping: You look fantastic, your smile is priceless and your post was right on! You will be at your goal in no time and getting the girls back in shape is just the icing on the cake If you don't mind ... I'm looking into PS in GA too, can you share (PM) which doc you are going to use and the prices ? Good luck and a speedy recovery with your upcoming surgery ((HUGS))
  22. Still have 30 something more to lose and would not say the weight is flying off but I try to mix it up a little. Some days I stay a bit lower and others I go a bit higher - that keeps the body guessing. ... so far that works best for me ...
  23. I'm happy you're doing so good & finding a fill doc that works so well for you ((HUGS)) Keep it up
  24. WOOHOO Jude, you are doing F-A-N-T-A-S-T-I-C =D> I'm doing the for you right now!
  25. Hi Christy, Speaking for both, my husband and I, we think Darlene (NP) is absolutely great !!! Her daughter is up front, her son does the check up on BP, weightloss, general questions etc. and Darlene is doing the fills always under fluoroscopy. My hubby has the VG band which holds 10cc (surgery was October 13, 2008) and had two fills so far. First one was 4.2cc and second one was 3.6cc. I had 3 fills since May'08 (see below). Keep us posted !!!
