So I'm experiencing something weird right now...I'm in my pre-op diet phase (am 3 lbs down on my way to a total of 15 lost) and have my surgery scheduled, my flights planned and paid for, my time off from work okayed, etc...but still, it doesn't really feel like I'm going to do this. Did/do any of you guys feel this way? It's like I can feel myself going through the motions of preparing, but I just can't believe it's happening to ME! I'm ACTUALLY going to go to Tijuanna, Mexico and have a weight loss surgery. Really!? Anyone else go through this?

  3. Hey ladies and gents! I'm scheduled for surgery with Dr. Ortiz on May 15th, and was wondering about the pre-op diet. The info packet I have is very vague about a few things, but I knew that some of you would definitely know the answers to my questions! 1 - when it says "protien shakes" - what exactly does that mean? Slim Fast/Ensure/etc? 2 - it mentions that I can "substitute a salad for the ministrone soup...so does this mean I can have soup/veggies/salad?? If so, when - like with my dinner or as a snack, etc? 3 - if both my breakfast and lunch are under 225 calories each day, and I have a Lean Cuisine for dinner (say...300 calories there) - that's only 800 calories! I know I can add SF jello and popsicles but those are only like 10 calories each...will I starve to death!?!?! thanks so much for any help you guys can give. anyone else out there flying in to San Diego on the 14th and having surgery on the 15th of May? ~Amber
